Why do people still think Flareon is a shitty Pokémon when it finally got Flare Blitz this gen?

Its ability requires it to be slowly killing itself to output semi decent damage but other mons do the same trick better
Horrible stat distribution leaves it with neither bulk nor speed, which is a death sentence for any Pokemon. Its movepool was never the problem.

All getting Flare Blitz did was make people realize Flareon's problem was not its lack of moves, but its shit stat distribution.
Honestly, a fire type ATE ability could save him.
All of the things mentioned here are problems, but they're all pieces of the bigger picture: Flareon has nothing substantial to separate itself from the other physical Fire types, specifically Arcanine, Entei and Darmanitan. Being a physical pure Fire type isn't even really all that good of a position. Maybe it's something Mega Evolution can fix, but at this point i'm not sure.

Flareon is a bad Darmanitan, which is a bad Victini, which is a bad Blaziken. It is, like 4 levels of bad. It has oneo f the worst possible stat distributions of all eevees, and it still lacks any decent coverage moves. It's slow, has no defenses, and is meant to go mixed. It is destined to suffer the same fate as Magcargo and non-mega Camerupt. Worse still, no HP means it will probably kill itself with recoil. It needs a new Fire type move that doesn't do recoil, coverage moves, and redistributing its stats to either give it speed or bulk.
It is the second cutest eevee, though, right behind Espeon, so it has that going for it.
It's a shit pokemon overall. Shit abilities. Shit stats. Shit moves. Outclassed in every other way by better physical fire mons. It's essentially a suicide attacker. No moves was never its problem and anyone who abused the mimic glitch would have known that.
Imo all the eeveelutions need an evo. I wouldn't say a mega because all of them have shit HP mostly. Or give eevee a new evolution that doesn't involve anything and for new evolutions to branch from that.
