talking about that though, it seems like the difficulty of dungeons affect the emeras that show up. i found a looplet with an emera (forgot the name) that guarantees your move to hit and guarantees it will be a critical whenever the PP remaining is even (basically every other use of that move is a crit)

Imagine you two sitting on the tree by the hill. The Partner's dumb big infodump happens. But then they realize - they like the life they've ended up with. Even though they know they have to, they don't want to go.
Suddenly, both of you start to shine. It's time. You're going home, and the Partner has to disappear. Neither of you want to, and you give each other one last friendship hug. Neither of you want to let go. You start to feel like you're being pulled away. It gets harder to hold on. Your partner says the same thing. Soon enough, you're having to hold each other's arms, then your hands/paws/talons/wings/whatever. They're sobbing, not wanting to disappear or lose their friends or the live they've made for themselves, or you, their very close friend. You don't want to go either. But then you both can't hold on any more, and both of you let go and disappear.
I mean, sure, in terms of the postgame it would make no sense, since then you'd have neither your player character nor the partner to play as. But it'd certainly be a lot more interesting than what we got.

Due to the slow leveling, most of the starters' worth is tied to their early moveset, as well as TMs if you're able to swing enough cash for them before the late-game gauntlet. With some Pokemon, like Riolu (a dark move, a fighting move, quick attack), Fennekin (fire attack, psybeam, etc), Chespin, Totodile, and so on, this turns out to be okay. With others, like poor Chikorita, it becomes a big mess.
That's arguably more of a problem with the slow leveling rather than the spread of starters, but I think it shows a lack of foresight that they didn't try harder to make every starter at least somewhat unfrustrating.

It's not just rotom, there's some other guys who's secret bases are monster houses.
A pretty solid strategy is at least having two members, switching to the one who's farthest from the monster house upon entering, let everybody else die, and run for the stairs. This works unless the stairs are inside the monster house (hasn't happened to me yet), or the stairs are hard to find/you don't know where they are (in which case you might have to beat a few monsters up before finding the stairs). If you've found the stairs before the monster house, leave a member there (by switching it's tactic).

I've never understood why the mc doesn't ever want to return to the human world after completing it's duty. Doesn't it want to find out who it was? Doesn't it know from not too long after the start it's only there to complete a job (It found out pretty soon in Rescue Team and Gates)?
I at least like how they did it with Gates, where the human is able to travel between both worlds in the end, and Explorers has the excuse that the future doesn't actually exist anymore, but Rescue Team was bullshit, and Super is so too.

'You' are shafted so hard in the ending it's unreal. You never get your memories back, and you're stuck there. Even if the main character themselves didn't mind, for projection purposes, I'd definitely want to go back to the human world. You could say that you get it worse in Explorers, but dying for the cause had a heroic element to it.
It's not bad writing per se, but after going on a long adventure, an ending this hollow for the player character feels 'bleh'

Played with squirtle mc and tepig pc. Tepig was over powered most of the time, but squirtle isn't very bad, the only problem is you don't learn aqua tail until level 28, which is in the epilogue for me (I haven't been able to get rid of water gun for the whole story, and withdraw for most of it. Its starting attacks are Ember and Quick Attack, which are okay, and Low Kick, which is weak and awful for coverage. The other attacks you'll learn through level-up by the Final Boss? Peck and Fire Spin. And Sand-Attack.
Sure, you can use a Flamethrower TM, but Torchic's movepool is very poor compared to the other Fire-types. This is on top of Torchic's relative frailty in a game where the biggest roadblocks eat unprepared Fire-types alive.

From what I've experienced, you tend to find Reviver Seeds in more natural, green areas like forests and jungles. You also tend to see them crop more in dungeons where you fought really hard bosses (in preparation for dying really often).
