Yes. You have to use gen 4 on the ds and gen 5 on the 3ds, though. They also have to be the same region, otherwise it won't work.

im trying to breed a shiny nidoran male for my big brother. I have a 6iv female nidoran with Power Band, and a 5iv (-spd) male nidoran with destiny knot on it. none are hatching with 6ivs am I doing something wrong?

the females have: disable, counter, charm
the males have: head smash, sucker punch, disable,counter
they all have hustle and are in a love ball
