I beat Salamance on my first try. I put it to sleep, confused it and made it flinch a ton. Just a matter of rng.
The game's great but there's a number of small issues with the new game mechanics and minor but stupid changes to the systems that build up and drag the game down. It's a lot like what happened to Etrian Mystery Dungeon except on a smaller scale.
Overall, not as good as Sky, but from a professed Sky fanatic, if this game's new big mechanics (the Connection Orb, the Looplets and Emera, etc etc) had been fully polished instead of having the issues they do, this game very well could have been better than Sky.

That Salamance was fucking easy as fuck you bad. What do you think revival items are for? Just to hoard in your deposit box? Try to stop thinking in one dimensions. This game has the right amount of challenge, and you should love it.
