Gen 4 was Shit, Laggy as fuck. And wifi battles were ruined by impossibly powerful pokemon. How can anyone appreciate this peice of shit? Along with it spawn some useless mythology of a shit teir god pokemon who can't even learn every HP but suposedly created all pokemon? Get fucked gen 4.

getting 20 fps on a DS wasn't comfy. And the transition between pokemon encounters was worse for this reason.
The region was decent. However the game and format it was programmed with is by far the worst generation to date.
Gen 1 had game breaking glitches but at least encounters didn't take 5-7 seconds for the pokemon to actually appear on the screen. That's not including how shitty the side scrolling was because of the lag almost like a printer was drawing the lines frame by frame. ORAS if played on a 3DS with the 3D activated but at least it wasn't as horrible as the frame rates from pearl and daimond. Holy fuck. I quit playing pokemon after that game,.... Until black came out and it was a better experience.

Also that's ignoring the impossible pokemon being used by cheaters in WIFI during those times. With 999 hp and 999 in all stats. It wasn't till 5th gen and beyond that they actually did a damn thing about it by adding a cap to levels and putting a cap on some abilities albeit some impossible pokemon with moves they can't possibly learn did make its way in 5th gen but at least it got nullified by the hack block. Of course that's only to do with online gameplay.

Has great pacing and Pokemon distribution, both in the wild and for trainers, so battles don't get boring (thank god, because it's the only thing that saves the experience from the god-awful lag).
The region is also fairly open, and exploring all the different sprawling paths is rewarding and doesn't feel like you're being shuttered into an arbitrary playing experience.
That being said, when you do encounter a roadblock, it's usually very contrived (Psyducks blocking an entire route because they have a headache, people having a conversation conveniently in front of a road gate, environmentalists blindly protecting a lake, etc).
I like how Team Galactic has Commanders there to fight you at the end of most missions, but most of what Galactic did was nonsensical (how did they steal energy from the Windworks? Why are they sending out multitudes of goons to collect honey? What purpose did their HQs serve, really?).
Music is amazing and the towns feel varied and atmospherically different.
