I don't really care which country but I'd like to see them create a region with predominately hot or predominately cold climate, like Scandinavian tundra or Amazon rainforest. Hoenn and Sinnoh were a good start but I'd like them to take it a step further. Sadly I know for a fact this is never happening outside of spinoffs becuase shitfreak needs their generic volcano, desert and ice dungeon packed on the same island.

Is it bad I want a region based off of Lebanon? Given Hoopa and its movie, Shauna, and Beirut being "the Paris of the Middle East" I wouldn't be surprised if they'd make one in the future.
In the meantime though, I really would like a region based off of Alaska. It seems so vast and nature-filled. Though I'd be pretty annoyed if they put tropical fish Pokemon in the Aleutian Islands. Actually, I've Columbia has all kinds of environments. It's probably save them a lot of time designing region geography if they went there.

It's got the Okanagan desert, the Cascades and Rockies, huge coastal rainforests, lots of opportunities for islands (Haida Gwaii, Vancouver Island, Gulf Islands).
Vancouver has has a few landmarks that could be easily pokemonized: Granville Island for shopping/, Pacific Rim Hotel as some sort of marathon battle challenge, Davies/Granville street for shopping/battling, East Hastings for villain gang turf, then there's Gastown, Chinatown (Kantotown?), Capilano Suspension Bridge, Aquarium (Water type gym?).
You could also easily weave in the First Nations into the story/world, which would add some variety. Maybe the friend character (may/brendan) could be native?
For starters, you could have a whale/porpoise type thing (water), an elk (grass) and maybe a cougar/mountain lion (fire).

Canada is literally a kekold nation. I've lost count of the number of black male/white female couples I've seen in my city in just this past week, and most of them had several future Obamas in tow. Canada was lucky enough to be too cold to grow cotton, but we went from like 0% black in the 1950s to more than 5% today (and the white percentage has dropped from 98% to like 75%).

Just about the entire rest of mainland Japan that Kanto and Johto didn't cover. Hokkaido and Kyushu are Sinnoh and Hoenn, and the Sevii Islands are probably the Ryukyu Islands, but there's still all of Shikoku that hasn't been touched.
If they were to make it, it would basically be very natural like Hoenn, but with lots of Buddhist-like shrines and somewhat traditional like Johto I'd imagine. It would probably be pretty comfy.

Pokemon has always made nature interesting to explore. The exploration is like 1/3rd of the game. I for one wish pokemon would ease up on the narrative a bit and let the players explore things for themselves and draw their own conclusions from brief text/lore and their surroundings.
What I mean by comfy is just the idea that you'd be left to your own devices to explore for your own with nature instead of being hamfisted into tight narrative. That's nothing but a dream though considering the direction the games are taking nowadays even more so than their earlier counterparts.
