I've played a lot of Gen1 OU 2-3 years ago (before the time they finally figured out same type status as a secondary effect doesn't actually work in-game, i.e. Body Slam doesn't para normal types) and I find it difficult to single out one particular team as the most tryhard, especially because most teams share the "big four" core (Tauros, Chansey, Snorlax, Exeggutor)and there's not too many viable mons to choose from to begin with.
I distinctly remember when this one guy, I think jb champ (who today runs pretty cool teams), started using three wrap mons (Dragonite, Cloyster, Victreebel?) which was annoying as hell and obviously only meant to be successful, not to have any kind of fun.
Other than that maybe std 4 + rock + lead Zam. I dunno.
