Pokemon being imbalanced as fuck is a reflection of reality.
Pokemon have varying stats because animals have different traits and not all are the same, if you want balance you want something that is illogical.
The only balance smogon implements is basically minimizing hax like sleep or evasion spam, and designating which mons just are so good they make a good number seem like hit in comparison.
