Regirock, Registeel, and Regigigas vocal fanbases always perplexed me. To me they seem ugly and useless. Also I hate the dots on their faces. Fuck dots. Dots are the ugliest things ever. Regice gets a little bit of a free pass for having cool looking legs, though, I cn understand liking it for having awesome icicle legs that are also ice skates. But still, the fact that somebody's favorite pokemon is Regirock just boggles my mind.
Ambipom also has a disproportionate number of fans, my 14 year old cousin loves the thing for some inexplicable reason. I just don't understand that one either. As someone who hated the kami trio to begin with, I can say I think they're pretty cool.
It's the Therian forms that really do it for me. The idea of those being their true forms, and the generic humanoid ones are just taken on otherwise. After realizing that they're not based on genies, but actually that one painting I cant remember the name of at the moment, it felt less aladin-y and a tad more authentic, as well. I also love Thunderus' color scheme.they're also very good in battle, which draws me to them.

Linoone is less cartoony and more realistic. The general idea behind it's evolution line is also pretty creative with the zigzag-straight line contrast, whereas Furret is just one cute thing evolving into another cute thing. Last but not least, Linoone is also more competitively viable than Furret, with it's own unique Belly Drum -> STAB Extremespeed set.

Crobat was my favourite Pokemon from when l was like 8 when GSC came out to about 4 years ago. Most kids never liked Zubat or Golbat because they got over shadowed by other flying and poison types and didn't learn fly back then. Also no one knew how to evolve Golbat since the game never told you and when you're a kid, you're over leveled started and legendaries are the only Pokemon that never faint. I discovered how to get Crobat from owning Pokemon Stadium 2. I felt smart being the only kid with a Crobat. Also Crobat is in catchable in every region. I think that's why he's a lot of kid's favourite

Not only that but it has no base stat over 100 meaning not only is it unappealing aesthetically, it also fails to stand out amongst its dragon peers.
