Pokemon sizes in the anime vs pokemon sizes in the games
which do you prefer?
>>
Pokedex sizes are inaccurate, so it's hard to have a preference for those.
>>
>>24610145

>canon sizes are inaccurate
>>
>>24610145
Inaccurate to what exactly?

kinda sucks how I'll never have an idea how big my favorite is supposed to be.
I have a pick from PMD, anime, 4'11" being height, or counting it as length, etc.
Then I just have to assume they're like Gourgeist or Magikarp/Remoraid with some being pretty small and some being huge (remember the fish raters in Kanto/Sinnoh?)
>>
>>24610177
to his headcanon of course!
>>
>>24610170
The Pokédex sizes are an average. The same way known heights and weights for animals in the real world are an average.
>>
>>24610186
Yes, and your point?
>>
>>24610170
Next you're gonna tell us that Kadabra are actually little boys transformed.

>>24610189
Pokemon and animals are likely to be shorter or taller than reported.
>>
>>24610180
Head to tail it's 1.5 meters.
>>
>>24610198
So the canon average sizes of Pokemon are worthless because of mild genetic variation in size that exists in all species?

That's absurdity.

>Grizzly bears are typically around 6.5ft tall
>No fuck you that's a worthless statistic!

this is a 1.5 meter long robot snake but it's never depicted as this size as far as I know
>>
>>24610225
That's because the people who draw the anime/manga etc are incompetent and fail to adhere to the canon size.

Pokedex entries are bullshit. I doubt their measurements are any better
>>
I like the anime sizes the best. It's not fun finding out that your favorite badass is a neck shorter than you.
>>
>>24610244
>>24610268
They're short because Japs are shorter than us, thus those heights are still imposing to them.

It's like clockwork.
>>

Lights CAN be seen from space idiot. And the Kadabra thing is just a folktale/legend.
>>
>>24610300
are Japanese small or do they just have large pockets?
>>
What if Pokemon continued to grow as they aged? An older Charizard would be much taller than a newly evolved Charizard
>>
>>24610313
>doesn't realize how powerful a single lone light has to be to be seen from space

>>
>>24610313
>getting this butthurt over pokedex's being inaccurate

Hmmmmmmm
>>
>>24610170
Well, yeah, pokemon gets a lot of things wrong.
For example, Malamar is Water/Psychic. Dark type doesn't make any real sense on it especially when it's canon that its body LITERALLY emits light, so it has to be wrong somewhere. A lot of things about pokemon simply don't make sense. Why they're so short is just one of those things.
>>
>>24610354
ehh. I'm in the "Pokedex entries are bullshit" camp, but Malamar's a bad example.

>literally no water moves outside of Rain Dance
>thrives and floats on dry habitats
>>
>>24610276
you forgot indian elephants
>>
>>24610354
The whole point of Malamar is that it's supposed to be disorienting

>looks like Water type
>actual typing is completely different
>has a bizarre evolution method
>moveset and signature move is centered around tricking and messing with its foes
>>
>>24610313
This is like trying to argue with a Christian. Remember just because it's written down, doesn't mean it's true.
>>
>>24610354
Hey man, I guess you must be a bit new but you're meant to turn your trip code off unless is necessary in the thread, just a heads up from someone whose been here a while longer than you

>Pokemon Stadium featured different colors when you named your Pokemons, made evident by the Npcs using Pokemons that had Difference in their name
>Anime also pointed out how colors can mean different things
>Pokemon Silver/Gold features Shinies
>Pokemon Stadium 2 seems to remove it's color features on most of the new Pokemons
>Gamecube comes, names does jack shit anymore
>Games now have only two colors option: Normal and Shiny
>Not a single game featuring true colors

I don't care much for the size, but if they could at least get some random colors going, that would be sweet.
>>
Pokedex describes a newly hatched or evolved pokemon. I think older adults would get larger over time, especially bug types.
>>
>>24610437
reminder I can have a newly hatched onix
>>
>>24610130
wait, is there a screenshot of ETOP charizard? i am curious
>>
>>24610437
It's implied that Pokemon do grow in size as they level up, like with Barboach and Shroomish in Sootopolis.
>>
>>24610430
>no monochrome

>>

Never have I seen such a hive of scum and insecurity
>>
>people get so butthurt that Pokemon aren't gigantic that they have to refute the only canon source for their heights
>>
>the Pokedex is wrong because I said so!

Faggots.
>>
>>24610814
>>24610820
I know the Pokedex is canon. I just don't give a fuck.
>>
>>24610354
Dark is actually "Evil" as opposed to the absence of light
Also friend, you having your tripcode on only detracts from the discussion. Please consider not using it in the future unless it actually adds something positive.
>>
Pokedex entries are literally written by 10 year olds.
>>
>>24611428
Haha nice epic webcomic reference!
>>
>>24611428
>Pokedex entries are literally written by 10 year olds.
that's what webcomic artist and youtube animators believe, but that's just a non-canon fan theory

Are you dumb? people have been talking about pokemon height ever since that episode where bill appeared
>>
>>24610276
Given how the descriptions seem to be subjective, they shouldn't be taken first hand. However, measurements are much less subjective when a standardization of measurement is used. In other words, you need to learn how to separate subjective information from objective information.
>>
>>24613942
>subjective
Actually, Macargo's entry has an actual temperature measurement, which is hotter than the surface of the sun.
>>
>>24610354
Malamar is EVIL you fucking retard. Dark type is the EVIL type and somehow people stil don't get that. Don't you have a Luvdisc to try and evolve or something?

Animals confirmed for human?
>>
test
>>

The games ask you to catch the largest magikarp you can despite the dex listing the measurements
>>
>>24614014
No, humans confirmed for animals.
