the first two are better, but the heels on the boots are still a little high for a nature trek kind of character. shave off the heels and you're mostly good to go
body damage value also depreciates with each additional injury too, i'd limit it to 1 or 2 at max. there are other ways of showing ruggedness and badassery without resorting to physical reminders

The irresponsible kind, or one that likes the Cofagrigus line a lot. That's assuming the parent is providing the child with the Pokemon, that the parent is travelling with the child, or that this Indiana Jones-type is checking to see what Pokemon their kid does or does not obtain. The kid could pretty easily just catch something on their own, or find one and bond with it or whatever.

Describing the skin as being "pale as a ghost," or their eyes "similar to that of a dead person/animal" is about as subtle as an eighteen wheeler. Think of different words or phrases to describe them. The skin could be alabaster, and the eyes unfocused. Ideally, you should make people suspect, but never really know for certain. Possible qualities might include difficulty grasping time, period-appropriate interests or opinions, or unusual eating/drinking/sleeping habits that aren't just the absence thereof.
Having a ghost trainer is probably really impractical from a more bureaucratic/practical perspective. I mean, where did they get their trainer license? Can ghosts operate Pokeballs, isn't there some sort of ID system going on based on the person? It muddles things up.

I'll try to clear things up a bit more, but I still really appreciate your help. I just want to make sure this character doesn't come off as a special snowflake with magical ghost powers.
I don't plan for him to have any supernatural abilties. Nothing like phasing through walls or being able to disappear at will, but I want him to have a very otherwordly feel to him which I hope to convey through his actions and appearance.
I really like your suggestion of having those odd qualities too. I'll try to think up of some that can tie in well to the character's past and report back here if you're willing to give more criticism.

I'd imagine that manifesting in the physical world would require a ton of energy, which could justify the eating/sleeping thing. But, it could seem backwards to because one wouldn't expect a ghost to actually need food and sleep like living beings do.

Used to be Mawile that updated it, then it was passed to me.
Now I honestly don't have any free time for this, and if I had it I'd rather spend it somehow else. I'd suggest it all gets passed to Terra, but I don't have any power to do so I think. It would be better to just copy the list, make a tidier, new one (getting rid of some of them, maybe).

Oh, I see. I only just recently began visiting the IRC, starting last week, I think. It's always so inactive over there, but I assumed that it was just because nobody really spoke or did anything at all. I didn't know it was because of drama.
I guess somebody's going to have to renew all of this. Merging with the PAR threads would bring more people, make things way more lively, and basically benefit both groups quite a bit.
PAR and OC threads are already similar in terms of content. Both include trainers and Pokemon and a degree of RP'ing.
