In pokémon you have a bunch of huge creatures like Tyrantrum, Gyarados, Groudon, Golurk, etc and etc
If it was too small people would complain like bitches, and if it was big like it should... I can't see the thing running around the overworld, it would be weird, with many parts of the body entering inside walls because it certainly would be bigger than 1 block (unlike HGSS, this is a 3D world).
