Would swapping its Special Defense and Speed be enough to save it? What other moves for coverage would it need to be relevant?
I don't get why all Eeveelutions don't learn Crunch. Eevee learns Bite, and most canids do upon level-up. I think with Earthquake, Crunch, Super Power and Flare Blitz, it could be usable in UU.

Nigga, in Gen I Flareon was the go-to Fire Type, even better than Moltres since it can learn something outside of Fly and Hyperbeam, and a much better attack stat.
Arcanine was lackluster and Ninetales was the one with no-moves since its Attack was laughable. Charizard only had Slash or using Swords Dance + Fly for it.
Toxic + Fire Spin was only pull decently by Rapidash thanks to Agility.
Dig, Body Slam, Fire Blast and Hyper Beam made Flareon useful back then.

Flareon could not learn Dig in Gen 1.
Charizard pulled off the rest of those better with Swords Dance. Even Fire Blast, because he at least had the speed to make it happen.

Oh, my bad. Arcanine learned dig too but it didn't hit hard like Flareon (110 and 80 vs 130 and 110) and it wasn't as fast as Charizard.
Also, now that I remember, Charizard only could learn Fly in Yellow (and Stadium).
I remember using Swords Dance, Fire Blast, Fly and Double-Edge Charizard in Yellow, shit was fun.
