from my favorite generation, pre-evo has the most unique typing ive ever seen, and when i played pokemon rumble blast for the first time, i had this incredible masquerain with silver wind that destroyed everyone. instantly became my bro.

reason being because he was the first pokemon I picked up when I started competitive battling on showdown back in late 5th Gen, and rocketed up the ladder with all the prankster shenanigans he offered. with all the success I've had, I've never taken him off the team in those 3 years.
and his mega only made things better later on, but I still think the prankster set is more fun to use.
too bad swagplay got banned later on, now I have to use confuse ray/foul play, still works tho.

In gen 1 it was scyther, gen 2 it was scizor. Now there's a mega. He's only become more awesome over the years.
Liked his debut in the anime. A strong yet easy-gong happy-go-lucky beetle. IRL Beetle are beautiful and this guy protrayed them well.
And then, when I catched one of them after headbutting some trees in Azalea back in Crystal, I put him inmediatly in the team.
When that thing with just even Tackle (Compared against other mons) deals a lot of damage I was awestruck. Then Megahorn happens.
In RSE I looked for him a lot, and when I found it in the Safari Zone and with just Brick Break (In that era that was a reliable attack) was able to just punch holes against everything... And that Megahorn animation. For those years, that animation was the definition of brutal... And Heracross was still with just a happy face.
Honorary mention to Arcanine. And lately, to Hydreigon.

Because he's been my starter since Sinnoh and my favorite design. I like how he's still very much viable even after two generations of being loaded with power creep.
I like how much of a tank he can be while still chunking out damage.
Been my bro for a long time. I remember finding him in gen 3 safari and thinking "woah" caught him. He looked like a badass and had a rough and tough move set of fighting moves. He was cool. I leveled him up and tore ass.
Then later I felt an odd connection to pinsir because he was unappreciated and over shadowed by heracross despite that fact that he was cool, which I relate to I guess.

Electavire and Blastoise. They were both on my team in Red, then in Fire Red and I transferred them over the years. Little tough deciding whether or not I wanted to evolve my Electabuzz but it was the right choice.

Same can be said for Swampert. Also, does your Blaziken have HP Grass? If not, then all it has is Solarbeam, which in the time it will take for it to set up, it will already be knocked out. Like how M/Swampert needs rain, M/Blaziken needs sunlight in order to succcessfully OHKO M/Swampert. And as I said before, M/Swampert is a TANK, meaning he is capable of taking hits. He is not meant to be a sweeper.

In my first play-through of Ruby I lost 5 of my 6 pokémon without hardly scratching any of Norman's. The last one of mine standing was my Gardevoir which somehow pulled off the then seemingly impossible and single handedly swept his team. Ever since I've tried to fit it in my team whenever I play casually and have room for it, but I hate to admit doing so because people just take me for a waifu fag.
As for competitive play, I gotta say it has to be Porygon-Z & Avalugg. They've always done so well on my teams and are both such fun pokémon to use. I owe a lot of success in Battle Spot to them.

I really fucking loved Flaaffy when it was first revealed. I made it a point to make it my ace the first time I played Silver version. Eventually I gave into the temptation of evolving it and have loved Ampharos ever since.
Rotom is my favorite color, it's two of my three favorite typesor all three if you count forms, and it has a cute design and a nice gimmick. I couldn't NOT love it.
Golurk is just everything I ever wanted in a Pokemon since I was a kid. The same way some people's childhood wishes of a t-rex Pokemon got fulfilled through Tyrantrum, I always wanted a giant automaton Pokemon. The fact that it's ghost type is a nice bonus.

Caught one in Cerulean Cave in LG, ported it up to Plat, literally used Transform+Quick Powder Dittobro every day as my ace. Blew a load when I found out about the Rage glitch, then Gen V brought Imposter so I could use my bro online
Second all-time fave is Scizor, bought into the Technician Burrito hype in Gen IV and he's been with me ever since. Loved the design in prior gens but he was unavailable to me due to lack of trading at the time, and I doubt I would've bothered because shit ingame with a boring ability in Swarm

Salamence. After I caught bagon in Emerald, I breeded him with Gyardos to get a Salamence with Hydro Pump and Dragon Dance.
Sapphire was my first Pokemon game. This was my starter, aka, my very first Pokemon.
My second Pokemon game was PMD: Red Rescue Team. The personality test made me play as Treecko.
In Explorers of Sky, I once again got Treecko. And I think everyone knows what kind of role Grovyle had in that game.
I have a huge connection to the Treecko line.
