I know it's been years since pokemon stadium came out, but why the fuck weren't shinies implemented in the main games like they were in this? There were so many simple alterations and it was so easy to do. pic entirely fucking related

each pokemon had like 4 different shades based on the tournament and nickname. the point being why can't they implement minor variations instead of full blown shinies as a more normal encounter rate? or even along side them. Garchomp's shiny could be thrown into the category of slight variation and give it a new one entirely

I always reject shit like "why isn't pokemon how only me wants?", but it actually makes sense. There are already some variation mons like Vivillon, that one weird worm, the big Deerling, Spinda and I don't know if I'm missing others.
Maybe just add even more different patterns/color/form (keeping his base like Unown) and then add a second shiny color to all mons.
The fact is that pokemon already grew too much to make a change like that without a reboot (anime and games mostly, they already shown too much). Fairy type and mega evolutions aren't a too big change at all, because if I remember right they already have talked about some mons looking as a fairy in the anime and maybe at games.
But yeah, even if it weren't too late, Game Freak wouldn't do something like that again, because they always keep some changes to their generation.
