We already have three type combinations (using Forest's Curse/Trick or Treat).
We already have fusions (Black Kyurem/White Kyurem).
3 types would be insane. 1/8 resistances and 8x weaknesses (I think that's how it'd work).

Masuda said if there's any changes to the mechanics its going to be a regression rather than adding more complexity. I don't have the source but it's probably easy to find.
