No son, it's called incompatibility. Nintendo only allows one unique save file, and whenever you save it's rewritten. This prevents people from going back to old files and mass-banking many, which can still be done with the use of a power save lel.

My sd card was not compatable with my computer so I grabbed a new one, continued my save on AS, put it in the computer to get my injecting Pokemon, then put it in my game, got my hoopa, then I put my original sd card back and its still working perfectly

I had this happen to me too. Good thing I had Powersaves though and I only lost about 10 hours or so of gameplay.
I did lose my Diancie, Sludge Wave Gengar and Hawlloween Gourgiest though.
