I think he was making a joke about the fact that they are literally made of blades, which are edged by design while referring to the tendency of other posters to call designs edgy based on non-literal reasons. He also appears to have referenced a line spoken by the character of the Joker in the 2008 film The Dark Knight "Why so serious?"

Based on grappling
Ability:
Wear Down - Increases the end of turn damage of trapping moves from 1/8 to 1/6 of the target's maximum HP (stacks with binding band.)
Most likely not animal based, maybe some slight mandrill/gorilla influence.

What I have a problem with is the "food" Pokemon. The ice cream is floating ice cream with a smiley face. I like Swirlix though. It's like cotton candy, but like, it's not just a cotton candy on-a-stick with a smiley face, it's like a dog with fluffy fur that looks like cotton candy. Like, that's fineexcept it gets ruined by its evolution, one of the worst Pokemon in the entire catalogbut food with a faceand food in general imois not ok.
