Its average. If you're good, you can make it work. You really depend on your energy retention more than anything else and speeding away with your extra energy. You wont outspeed some planes in a straight line unless you came from a dive, or at least that was my experience.

Forgot to add. Radiator and Engine Injection dont seem to change anything on the plane performance.
I had a friend flying a stock P51 and I flown mine, which had up to T2 upgrades. He overheated and cooled down at the same speed and the same temps as me. Cant say for sure about Engine Injection, but it doesnt look like it modifies anything.

You can almost all planes on Military power with the radiator closed.
WEP on low altitude is a major boost which brings you almost on Tempest levels of speed and a solid climbrate.
Just put your nose down into a shallow dive and nobody will catch you, just remember to never pull full elevator or you throw away all your precious energy.

Performed the Radiator test with only T2 upgrades. Later I reached T4 upgrades and the first thing I researched was the Engine Injection. No apparent difference in performance. Sorry if the way I wrote that looks confusing.

Armour is modelled the same across all game mode, shooting the same spot a bunch of times with a shell until the tank is combat ineffective happens in sim too. It's a game mechanic that simulates the durability of the armor.
