Aside from the bad end, which is called bad end for a reason and is also nothing new to SMT, I don't see anything wrong with them. Alcor's is sad but there's nothing wrong with that, and Ronaldo's is supposed to fire you up. Also, the tone of Yamato's feels depressing as well if you actually play it, even if things do turn out marginally okay.
The overall tone of Break Record is just more depressing than the DS game. It's supposed to bring out strong emotion. I really don't see any problems here.

I can maybe see Devil Children coming back, but I think that Atlus got it out of their system a while ago. It was pretty much a response to Pokémon, but even now, Youkai Watch is filling a somewhat similar role and is more popular than either series in Japan currently. Maybe its success will pave the way for a new Devil Children game.
Devil Survivor 3 seems likely in 2 or 3 years for the 3DS.
Devil Summoner will probably get a new game, though whether it'll be a handheld or home console game is an interesting question. Atlus probably wants to get their money's worth out of the HD demon models in Persona 5, and it already seems likely that they'll at least appear in SMT X FE. SMT IV was made based on fan requests for a new numbered entry, so whether we'll get SMT V anytime soon is a big if.
Speaking of SMT X FE, I wonder if it'll be a spiritual sequel to the Majin Tensei series due to Fire Emblem being half the crossover. On the other hand, I can see them trying to avoid retreading the same ground, and instead making a console SMT game with a bunch of Fire Emblem characters and gameplay elements.
