Yeah, that's what I've been thinking. Creating a narrative that changes dynamically through a player's choices is hard enough. But taking it and turning it into a game is even more difficult. It's like those features they planned to incorporate into Bioshock 1 but were cut because, while they were pretty cool ideas, they added nothing to the game experience.
It's entirely possible Ken's "Narrative Legos" could fail and that dynamic story telling just isn't worth it. What then?

I can see where Ken's doubt is coming from. But I think we have plenty of proof in the open-world genre that dynamic narratives are appealing and can be accomplished. But I suppose in the worse case we simply get an ambitious, if someone linear, game. I'm fine with that.
