Was there any particular reason Mecha Sally was leagues above other roboticized mobians, other than the fact that she was a main character? I mean she's not that strong normally, so I don't see why she was so swole when she was a robot.

Sally is never an important character, she's just the most prominent supporting cast member. Who she is or how she feels matters all of like maybe four times and she doesn't do fucking anything.
Rotor and Bunnie, ironically, were the two Freedom Fighters to get the most stories ABOUT them, and even then both characters were shafted most of the time. The team as a whole was poorly managed and, to be quite frank, REMAINS poorly managed to this day. A lot of Flynn's early stories ignore that team dynamic and even over the last 75 issues he's really only explored small aspects between a few of their members.
They barely feel like a team/family, and we're only just now, in this last YEAR, seeing them interact with each other on a regular basis.

As an artist, there are ways of -expressing- yourself, the best ones can hide their disaproval with the shitty script and get away with it.

I think the reason Sega hasn't told Penders to sit down and shut the fuck up is because they don't want to set a precedence of shutting down fan artists. Just imagine the hot, foaming outrage that would occur if artists thought they couldn't sanic anymore.
What they should do is establish guidelines. Something along the lines of, "Yeah, it's all fine and dandy to make fanart, but if you start fucking with our bottom line or start shit, we're going to revoke your license to use our trademarks."
