The main story is 15 hours-ish, Left Behind will net you 2 or 3 more. Multi could last you ages if you like it. If you like the single player you may even want to go through the story again on Grounded, but that depends on how much you like the mechanics.

It's also nice that Sony seems to have persuaded a number of 3rd parties to start developing for PS4 so they can get used to work on the hardware and make games for it easier in the near future. I'm sure P5 PS4 port was born from a deal with Sony since Hashino said near the reveal last year that they don't have the resources for a PS4 version.

I have an 80GB PS3 and I'm afraid it's going to die soon, so I can kind of rationalize buying a new console. I plan to use the remote play function away from home. I want to play Persona 5, Destiny, GTA5 and the Resident Evil remake. Are there any reasons why I shouldn't get a PS4? Can we expect a price drop soon?

I learnt my lesson from GTA V, PS3 and 360 are over. Any AAA games that get released for those consoles are going to be garbage. My friend isn't buying a PS4 yet because he said he can just get MGS 5 and Destiny on PS3. They're going to be so shit.
