Nah, basically the MC's girlfriend is called Arietta, which is contracted to Ari in the translation but in jap, together with her surname, makes Al Fine, which is a relevant name outside of its musical meaning.
Of course it makes more sense how the translator did it, but kills the purpouse, so it was unavoidable.

Captive Market wasn actually legitimately good until it just became porn, I mean, it's Black Lilith so every image is fapworthy but come on they could have done so much more with the story.

That's just how Black Lilith's writers work. String along a boring ass story for about an hour or two then slap the porn in after they've setup the props of the story.

Because everyone has different tastes. And because it takes two individual skills which can be difficult for one person alone to do. Most of the time you need a person skilled into hacking a vn's engine and you need a fluent translator. People who can do both are rare. Hell without anyone to pop those translations into the vn's in the first place all those translators wouldn't even be able to do shit besides posting the scripts around in text files.

This game is a really good example of a writer who wants to make a kinetic novel, but gets pressured by the publisher to give it choices and routes. He wrote one more route (the childhood friend one) after finishing the one that was clearly meant to be the canon one (the generic kuudere 'so serial musician' route), got tired, then shit out a few half hearted paragraphs to give the other two girls routes.

Rance Quest is difficult to translate because it's pretty bloated.
Plus there is no point playing with out having played the earlier games. Which is why the translation has started from the start.
Kichikuou Rance will be released this month and if you haven't read Rance I, play Rance 02 and play Rance III and IV before that.

Anyone here knowledgeable with recording VNs?
I'm wondering why my OBS recording isn't as good as my Bandicam recording. The OBS's audio has a lot of background static or something, and the beginning transition is a bit choppy. Framerate gets noticeably worse for more resource-intensive games like Twinkle Crusaders, but shit runs just fine on Bandicam without me changing any settings.

Not that I'm aware of. There's the MoeNovel shitty translation, and then theres the Restoration Patch which just adds in the H-scenes and other lewd scenes MoeNovel censored. There was suppose to be a second patch that fixed the translations, but going by the Fuwanovel thread it looks like it might never be released as they're barely halfway done with only Kotori's route after over a year.

I just had way too much fun with it. I am probably a huge sucker but I was completely pulled into every emotional, hotblooded, etc. moment in the entire story. I do think one or two routes could have been better but I thought overall it was a great experience.
