I think that's going a bit too harsh here. Something that I appreciated about P4 is that the problems the characters face, including the odd ones like the detective, the idol, and the shadow, are really far more down-to-earth problems. Problems with identity and feeling right with your place in the world. These are issues they address but do not solve, because these aren't problems you just have some miraculous encounter that completely changes your way of thinking, it's something you adapt to slowly over time.
I'm not going to say that P4 handled it perfectly. Not even close. And there are some things they could have addressed, but overall I think the way they handled it was pretty good. At this point I don't need characters to go through second or third arcs, especially in smaller games like Arena or adaptations. Just neat little details or stories is fine.

In his social link he starts to realise that there's more to it than that, he starts to realise that he was jelly of Yu for being a perfect mary sue, and he says he wants to be more mature, because he's got to live for Saki.
Then he's back to being a goofy dipshit who wants to kill Nametame without even hearing his side of the story, and has wacky misadventures with watermelon woaawhawowahaoh.
Compare that to Junpei in Persona 3. He starts the game off an asshole jealous of the P3MC and intimidated by the role he needs to play. He sucks in school, he doesn't take things seriously, he thinks it's all kind of fun and games. He relishes the chance to have a special power nobody else has.
Then all that shit with Chidori happens and he realises that he's gotta act mature.
In The Answer, he's the most level-headed character of the group, even Akihiko acts like a hothead compared to him, whereas Junpei just calmly tells everyone to relax. Yosuke and Junpei have pretty much the same character arc, it's just that Junpei's actually sticks.
Of course Ultimax completely undoes that because "MUH ANIMOO STEREOTYPES"

The problem with Yosuke wasn't that he was a goofy dipshit. That's who he is. His problem was his perception of the world and Inaba specifically. Hew was just sort of angry at the place for being a middle of nowhere place where he had nothing to do but work at his family's place.
And even Yosuke himself admits he fucked up with Namatame, but people take too much out of that scene. Namatame had essentially just killed Nanako, Adachi comes out and says that there's no way they can convict Namatame because none of the evidence would stand up in court, and the guy seemed to be trying to escape with his Shadow effectively showing up to say "yeah I killed people, and I'm going to kill people again, the police can't touch me." This is more like deciding if it's fine to just send the Joker back to Arkham when you know he'll just break out next week and kill some more people. Yeah, it's still wrong and there was more to the story, but if you can't see how that might be tempting, I don't know what to say. And more importantly, he, and everyone else, still manage to calm down and listen to reason.

Honestly I would find that more of a problem if I believed there were scenes where their development would have significantly changed the outcome. Take Kanji for example. He decides to be more open about his hobbies and what he likes. But that's not something that's going to change over night. He's not going to come right out of his dungeon and say "All right, gonna start wearing a pink shirt, take the dye out of my hair, get a proper education, stop picking fights, and I'm going to knit a pink alligator for everyone in Inaba." The dungeon was just the start, an acknowledgement of the problem. We see tiny bits of the real Kanji over time, where he's more open about the things he likes but any major and totally unavoidable changes would have been really jarring. It was only a few months. People don't change that fast.

It's the text that's not selectable ingame which I had to force.

CFW is a softmod, there are no hardware mods for PS3.
You just need a PS3 with firmware 3.55 or lower and you're set.
If you're above 3.55 though, you need a special device called E3 Flasher to downgrade your PS3 to 3.55 before you can install CFW on it though.
You can only downgrade PS3s that came out of the box with 3.55 or lower (so all Fats, and most Slims, Super Slim was never 3.55 and as such can't have CFW).

The way I see it, there are a few possibilities:
1. Atlus told Arcsys to call him that internally in the game for whatever reason, or they told Arcsys that he's the P5 protag and Arcsys ran with it during development and they were all too retarded to change it before release.
2. Arcsys developers are familiar with Persona and see the "true ending" as setting up Sho for a protagonist role so they just decided to call him that without input from Atlus perhaps as an internal joke (remember the nuts and bolts work for P4U2 was done by Arcsys).
3. Atlus knows all their games get hacked and parsed and so decided to insert that into their game either as a ruse or to give a little hint to their hardcore fans (the type of fans who would be pouring over game files).
1 seems the least likely to me. I just don't see why Atlus would up and decide to call him that for no apparent reason. 2 is quite possible I think. 3 is a maybe, but I don't think Atlus has done any jokes like that ever or for a long time.

Besides I can tell you here and now that changing existing code calls from P5HERO into "SHO" in an already finished/near finished game is a hell. In fact going back and changing any early code when you're late into development is insane so it's natural they'd leave it at internal codename without messing with it in fear of breaking the code.
Also one more thing about audio, AT3 doesn't even support bitrates higher than 132kbps in case you're interested. AT3+ can go pretty high though.
