For the sequel, I'd want the same style of play as the first game, but a central location for the guard station, and groups of animatronics (not just individuals) stationed at several points around you rather than just in front of you. Rather like a four-or-more-paths-to-you rather than the two-path we have now.
Two floors, double-level guard station. One left door and one right door on each. There's a ladder - you can be either on the second floor or the first. You can view all cameras from both floors, but you need to be on a floor to close doors on that floor. Animatronics can move between floors, and there are a couple on the second floor already. In addition, there's a (manual, powerless) trapdoor that can shut between the first and second floors. If you let a door go unattended and let an animatronic in, you can barricade yourself in the other floor, but if that happens too soon in the night then more can gather below/above you and break through the trapdoor (powered doors cannot be broken through). If you go up or down to where an animatronic is already waiting, you're screwed.
There are animatronics that can screw with your power supply, directly disable the cameras, and they have 'teams' that they can work in alternately for more diversion/attack patterns.
