Just defeated my second Kirin with a good load of 80 pellet shots and a Sakura Parasol.
It seems Ionprey Gunner armor is pretty much the only saving grace for the Prey armors. Which is nice, since i actualy like their armor design.

SnS has lower damage per hit, but can somewhat compensate for it with its mobility. None of the attacks take more than half a second to chain into a dodge, so using mobility to your advantage makes the fight a lot more involved.

Miralis: Huge bag of HP. Sometimes underwater. If he dies there, you don't get 9 carves, and it can be hard if he dies on land. Sometimes blocks the camera, making it hard to read tells. Aimed fireballs that have a tell as big as the blast radius.
Alatreon: My only actual problem is difficult breaks and unrivaled hatred for gunners.

Can't ever go wrong with Speed Sharpening if you're unsure of what to gem in. 5 slots with each gem giving +2 points means you'll fit it in perfectly.
I feel like the Switch Axe would be more interesting if it only had one phial type that boosted both raw and element/status, while reload was removed and the phial constantly drained for as long as you were in sword mode, but phial charged faster compared to how slow it is now.
Also you could add shit like "Full-phial bonuses" to Axe Mode, like maybe using some phial to do a bonus, holding charge on overhead chops or some shit but only if the phial is full.
Focus would both make it charge faster and drain less in sword mode.

True true, just compared to the other guides which offer armor skills and generally a good weapon of said element or amount of slots, the DB guide is a little lacking and leaves a little to be desired. Recommended armor skills at least would be nice. For the weapons though, might want to mention some are better then others, cause the chainsaw swords while cool, are kinda of shit they're entire upgrade path and they gotta compete with lagia and Zinorge DB's, same with the dual element weapons, might want to mention them and how effective they can be

I contributed to at least2 of the guides but never did anything for DB because I only started using them atm.
Maybe you could compile a short list of skills for starters, we can clean things up later and shape it up to be a great guide.

I think these are some of the must have skills for DB from what I've played so far. Some other stuff is usefull but it's stuff that can be applied to most weapons so I do not think it is relevant atm.

Oh man. After putting a ton of hours into mhfu, I was super pumped for Tri. It was the only reason I ever bought a Wii. Switch-axe ended up better than I hoped, underwater combat ended up worse than I hoped. They removed some of my favorite monsters (Rajang, etc.), and the Elder Dragons, so that was disappointing. The giant monster fights felt improved. Lao Shan Lung, while cool, was pretty boring. 10/10 theme though, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKyzN3jNw8w
Mainly used the hammer and lance in FU, so the Tri changes felt fantastic. Was really weird getting used to the hammers new mid-charge though.
Overall, the game a successful upgrade.

Yes, it makes the constant stamina depletion slower.
Unless I'm mistaking it for the other stamina skill which is likely since I trade them constantly.
