The trouble I'm having is that there is a stupefyingly large amount of junk in the game, and no really good way to find all of it with Papyrus.
I built the tool off of existing scripts from my base mod, and the functionality works, but I'm just trying to get all of the junk that is reasonable included before I release my mod's update publicly.

Contraptions has a huge form that it uses for the pitching machine, so I'm going to test whether official DLC adds to that with a script or something. If it does, then I can just hook into that, obviate a huge amount of compatibility and maintenance work on my end, and just say "if you want custom junk to work with this, make sure it works with the Contraptions pitching machine".

Thanks. Yeah, current issue is the mesh dissapearing when you get too close. Once I fix that...that SHOULD be the final hurdle. I still want to give some of them physics but I'm beginning to wonder if that will be possible at this point. I will try, anyway.

I Pm'd that guy on LL again, he seems to know a ton about 3ds. Older versions of Nifskope had a transform - Apply feature that could fix my current issue, but the version of nifskope that works with FO4 doesn't seem to have it. There's surely a way to do it in 3ds but I dunno how, there's literally 10,000 different buttons and modifiers you can do to meshes in that program...

I've already quit screwing with the 3ds crap for the night, and began on ironing out all the CK work. There's really not a lot left to do once I get the model stuff all polished up.

I've never done physics on hairs before but if it doesn't work, yeah, go ahead.

I'm hoping its as simple as making cloth weights in the ref skeleton and copying weights from hairs used as reference. Of course I'll need to fix the mesh in 3ds again, but once I get a proper workflow goin'...it worked for the physics cape I tried at least, until I tried manually painting the cloths, then shit got wacky on it.

It does though. Settlements get completely bogged down all to hell with more than about 20 settlers, and the scripting engine will eventually start freaking out and trying to "optimise" settlers away. The only problem that the UFO4P previously had was that, aside from trying to update workshop scripts, the AI packages for settlers was being flagged for them as scenery filler.

This is definitely not true. It isn't difficult at all to put together a little bomb that breaks everything - wipe out form lists, clear away model info, break navmeshes, etc. - it can get really nasty if you aren't careful. And with things getting baked into saves, it is really unsettlingly easy to break (save) games completely.

Not really. I think the _only_ dialogue we have on this is Deacon (a pathological liar) saying:

Assuming any of it is even true, that doesn't really provide any evidence that synths are sterile.
Deacon added the bit about her being a synth as a lead in for the cause of her death to his old gang, rather than to suggest that synths are unable to reproduce.

Where is it? Why can I not be a pretty pinup princess? It has to be the single most used shade in all of noir but it doesn't exist. This gives me cancer.

Would it be simple to do? I have limited experience in modding but I believe it should be easy enough. Only thing is I need to buy the game again. I don't think $80 for a nice shade of lipstick is a good purchase

FEV != Sterility

Super Mutants can't reproduce because their particular strain of FEV makes their DNA self-checking (hence their hyper regenerative abilities), which destroys the sexual organs. Other FEV-mutated creatures such as Deathclaws are not effected by this.

Though Synth organics are produced using a mild strain, their physiology is human. In any event, it could go either way.

I guess set the slot to something else. I dunno how children work in FO4 though. Sooner or later (probably already exists on ATF), someone will make a mod that lets children have facegen and same file structure as adults, just setscaled down and given different body shapes.

Deathclaws are not FEV mutants, stop using wiki pages as your source of lore.

A. The above rumor comes from the Fallout 2 guide, written by people other then the Devs which claimed that the Master genetically altered them. IUt NEVER mentions the use of FEV

B. Its been pointed out that this statement makes no sense as the Master never uses Deathclaws himself, nor makes any sort of mention of altering Deathclaws in any way in Fallout 1.

C. The ONLY canon FEV mutated deathclaws are the intelligent ones produced by the Enclave in Fallout 2. And much like the Wannamingos, another FEV mutant that could reproduce, its very likely they had a specific point at which they would become sterile, just as was happening to the Wannamingos.

TTW all the way. Making almost completely straight Fallout 3 content is easy if you just use FNV/Fo3 assets. And, you know anybody who has TTW will have all of the Fo3 DLC, so DLC dependencies are not a big worry.

No, the Institute holotapes say that they ran out of research avenues due to the commonwealth populace's radiation mutated DNA, with the second tape ending saying they needed "someone" new, aka Shaun.

Shortly after Shaun was kidnapped his DNA was taken, mixed with FEV, and then the first Gen 3's started appearing because they now had a pure source of DNA to use as a base

The game?

The FEV research notes state that they maxed out FEV research, and needed "someone new", in 2224.

Shaun states he was kidnapped from the Vault in 2227.

And Broken Mask, the incident in Diamond City when the first very early Gen 3 went crazy and killed people happened in 2229.

More properly, all those are generally the effects of FEV in Super Mutants (which synths are obviously not).

You could just as plausibly say that the enhanced strength/intelligence/whatever is due to superior manufacturing processes eliminating deficiencies in the build of a body. We know for one that _some_ (demonstrating that not all Gen.3 synths are comparable) Gen.3 synth brains have cybernetics that allow interfacing with computers/programming code.
