Gym system is fucking broken and favors attackers rather than defenders.
Any chucklefuck can take down a high ranking gym and gain decent XP too provided they have revives and potions.
There is a group of Valor that get around in a minivan with 1500+ pokes and slam gyms, then drop a bunch of snorlax and vaporeon. Can't compete. I'm valor too so it's not like I give a fuck but really - gyms are bullshit. There isn't even a ranking system so gyms are basically for bragging rights and free XP if you want to get rid of excess supplies.

Two things need to happen in this game.
1) Battery Saver Mode needs to be fixed and possibly overhauled. It's a great feature in theory since it allows you to keep your phone down and pay attention to your surroundings while not missing any Pokemon that you run into, but in practice it just leads to instability. It needs to be fixed, and honestly this should be Niantic's top priority. This game is too distracting and even for pedestrians that can be dangerous. Battery Saver Mode just makes the game safer.
2) Niantic needs to make deadzones where Pokemon won't appear and needs to remove Pokestops from such deadzones. Some of them can be done automatically (cemeteries, military bases, police stations, etc should all be automatically made into deadzones), and others should be done at user request (a form should be added for locations to be allowed to be made into deadzones).
