You can still damage boost, heal, and pump out your own damage. You don't literally need to be sucking everyone's dick the entire match. Sometimes your team will in fact just not see torb setting up a turret and damage boosting a blind pharah/soldier won't do shit, so take it down yourself. The spread is very predetermined, it's tighter than you think at most ranges. Just because they're shotgun pellets doesn't mean you can be less precise with your shots. Try sparring against Zenyatta on Hard. That shit is fucking ridiculous. He has insane accuracy and hits you in the head every time he hits you.
I trained against him because if I fuck up and miss even one flurry of shurikens, he'll probably most likely kill me.
I would recommend trying it. Just stay on the ground floor at all times, don't use abilities, just shurikens and try to kill him.
If your accuracy is less than 40% while jumping around at all times, he'll kill you probably as often as you kill him.
