Stay alive until very late game when you need torment immunity and/or extremely high stealth. Stabbing through Tomb/Hell just so happens to benefit from both aspects of being bloodless. By then you should have at least one wand of HW and plenty of recharge scrolls, or have six stars with Makh.

good luck getting a decent one, like 99% of the zweihanders you find will be replicas(along with most of the other medieval weapons). Replicas have the same name so you have to read the description to find out that it's basically a paperweight and does the same amount of damage as a heavy stick.

Skill wise you just need fabrication, no other special skills required. It needs to be reasonably high but the recipe books will bring you up to the skill level you need. You do need to get recipe books but all the standard arms and armor are found in reasonably common books. Look through a couple of libraries and you'll find them. The materials required are all very easy to come by. Steel, leather, and wood. They're essentially a non-factor, you can get all that you need in a couple of minutes.
The problem is the equipment. The equipment required is an enormous pain in the ass. It's not particularly common and it's all astoundingly heavy.
The electric forge chews through power at a extreme rate and the alternatives are the acetylene torch, which can't be crafted or refilled and isn't very common, and the charcoal forge, which requires so much charcoal that unless you want to spend weeks making it with a charcoal kiln you will never forge anything. All of these weight at least 20 pounds.
The anvil weighs over 100 pounds, is quite rare, and requires an enormous amount of steel to craft(as in you will have to disassemble and melt down an entire truck).
The crucible is more common but weighs 30 pounds.
You also need tongs, a chisel, and a swage and die set, which are not especially heavy but are again all uncommon to find and annoying to craft.
Fundamentally the only practical way to forge in cataclysm is to build a war truck, rig the electric forge to run off of it's power supply, and stow the rest of this heavy shit in it. It's not something you can just go and do, you need to also spend ages rigging a mobile base truck you can do it in.
The old "light the doors of your basement on fire and lure surrounded start zombies in" tactic.

What is even the point of necromancy? I feel like it's really underwhelming compared to other schools of magic. Skeletons and zombies can't go down stairs (understandable), but they also move so slow they can't even keep up with you on the level you create them, they're generally so weak that any enemy you need help for will destroy them easily anyways, and just to add further insult, your zombies and skeletons "crumble into dust" after a surprisingly small amount of turns.
I create some zombies from an encounter, if I just walk at normal speed they can't keep up. If I keep stopping for them to catch up, they disappear into dust before I even make it to the next fight.

Branchless SpEn win. Branchless means not entering temple, lair, orc, vaults. It was a fast game and it was pretty cool. Runes: abyssal, glowing, magical. Abyssal was obtained last.
One of the most painful:
HuCK of Trog, using a quickblade. That was the game where I decided to never use short blades for melee again. My tabbing arm was hurting and it took so fucking long to kill anything.
Another one is FeMo of Fedhas, it was painful because felids are shit. Didn't lose lives though. I used confusing touch, invisibility, mass confusion to fight things. It's my only hexes non-stabber character.

Which is better at 18 polearms and 13 fighting, a +4 bardiche of flaming or a +5 trident of elec with +3 dex, +blink and rf+? I have other sources of rf so that doesn't mater too much. I also can wear a buckler with rf++ and +2 slaying with the trident.

I haven't been able to find any good branded demon tridents. I found a demon trident with just +7 and no brand that I am carrying around in case I find another scroll of branding (I used it on the bardiche and now I have an okay end game weapon). I still think the trident is better for now until I find a better demon trident.

If i knew how to code properly i'd make it do

I think it should respect the 75% damage to everything except primary target like normal cleaving, for simplicity. It's balanced by scythes having 14 damage and needing 26 skill for mindelay.

I plugged the numbers and even without enchantment factored in with being a +2 advantage for the d trident, the d trident is better. Assuming that everything is right down the middle in damage per turn.
