That's my best assumption, I've had a few things lately that I can't shake but since they either don't directly involve me, or are situations where the outcome will be apparent in time, I get all flip turned upside down when I can't get it out of my head despite knowing it's no good to fuss over it too much and won't help matters. It's a vicious cycle and my being aware of how stupid it is doesn't help.
And yes, that's great advice. I do app development and maintenance for a living from home and then play goddamn video games into the night, so I always make sure to go for a jog in the morning, right after I clock out and before I lay down. A monitor or active stimuli definitely doesn't help, and that's probably why I stay awake after I give up on trying to fall asleep.Sorry for once for being so grossly off topic, I appreciate your input.

Leveling roulette can put you into HW dungeons. I got a scholar in all i45 stuff once who assumed he'd just get some low level dungeon because he always had before; he queued into the Aery in that shit gear and wasted everyone else's time. You won't even be able to hold aggro in HW content (including trials) with an i115 weapon if there's just one guy in the party who sort of knows what he's doing and has appropriate ilvl gear. You might be able to get by for a bit with a dreadwyrm one, but even those start to lose their value by the time you hit vault/Ravana story.

Midgardsormr is one of the dead servers, balmung and gilgamesh being the largest and most active but also closed to new players. Cactuar, Jenova and Sartangas are all considered mid pop and generally pretty active while still being open to new players.
I'd recommend either waiting until a maintence to reroll on balmung/gilgamesh or just making a new character on one of those mid pop servers if you are impatient.
Every single time you meme masons tell a new guy "Its fine to play on my shitty empty server they're exaggerating" and then in a week they either quit or transfer anyway. Stop lying to them about your hipster FC and play on one of the real realms.

All Balmung has going for it is there's players in the cities. This is a byproduct of RP. If you don't RP they might as well be flavor NPCs, and not exactly lore friendly ones. Their stories are almost always juvenile. It's funny how the thread often cautions against Gilgamesh, telling people they'll never find a raid group and it's oversaturated with raiders, but somehow Balmung is better despite not having nearly as many active, recruiting raid groups.

Yeah well, both are true. And while those of us on Balmung are raid more casually and progress slower I wouldn't say its raid scene isn't active.We just spend most of our energy fapping instead of putting it to use learning game mechanics. No complaints really since this game is pretty awful.
