It's not that soon, I did start when the german release was out and more or less raced through the main quest, only going off-path to find my mage set and getting a little lost. There's probably a reasonable amount left, might be the warning is just there because a lot of stuff might change throughout the next quest sincethere's basically an entire army parked in front of the capital's gates and the only thing stopping them from razing it to the ground is a flimsy magic barrier. I added the items to the game with the ck as rewards for certain bosses, or in areas you cannot enter unless you have certain keys, but you can just dump everything in a pile if you want.
Just know that everythign needs to be rebalanced.
All my rapiers are at 1.6 speed for example.

ya, only problem is that the babies are kind of fucked up. I haven't gotten around to it, but I want to re-work it. All the baby animals have dialogue options and shit, it's very weird. Same as the babies from beeing female, they're not normal children and are kind of fucked up.
Other than that it works great, but that actual baby aspect needs a re-write imo. But with those three mods you can make all the babies you want. Estrus Chaurus is my favorite to be honest, it's hilarious if you let them hatch in a town.

Install any random body texture mod that you know works. Then open up that location and copy the folder structure, and place the milkdrinker files in the same folders that the other texture's files were of the same name.
