Evolve uses an asymmetrical structure where five players, four playing as hunters and one as the monster, battle against each other in an industrialized alien planet called Shear.
Stage 2 is the transition to Free To Play + a lot of gameplay changes.

Every week, four hunters (one of each class) and one monster will be in the free rotation. There are currently 24 Hunters and 7 Monsters in total, though some are variations of others. By playing the character tutorials, you unlock one hunter (Markov) and one monster (The Goliath) to keep forever.
Additional monsters, hunters, perks, and skins are unlocked by earning silver keys. Silver keys are earned by playing the game, leveling up, or getting login bonuses. Currently you can't actually buy silver keys, presumably so they can test the unlock rate, but that's coming later.
There is also a monthly login bonus punch card. You get one punch for each day you log in. Beyond silver keys, this can directly award new Hunters and Skins.

If you've got the time. I would prioritise tranq over the sniper, but it can change depending on the comp. Only projectile weapons can hit weak points, so if you've got someone like Hyde you're not going to get that muse of it, probably.
Tranqs are excellent outside of the dome, you should always be trying to tranq the monster.

Is Monster unbalanced or something? I fucking suck and got dropped to 1/3rd HP after being domed a third time and all I did was bull rush and slam jam the medic and trapper and boom. Half the team was dead while I ignored the Assault. After everyone keeping him alive was dead it was easy to wait until the cooldowns were up and just CC/rushslam him to death. I got caught lots and missed a lot of attacks and barely hit stage 2 before that final dome and I still slapped their shit.

Wraith used to be stealth and sneaking shenanigans, now its just decoy double team shenanigans. EKraken is supercharged versions of the kraken spells. All abilities are red, and have a horrifying sound effect. Its lightning doesn't charge so it goes exactly where you first press, and it comes out faster for 500 damage. banshee mines are now a banshee missile, which i don't like so much but i can see its use. Its AOE ability chains after it hits a target and seems to do more damage to me, and its version of vortex doesn't push, does less damage it seems and is shorter but sticks around in a giant cone for damage over time.
Is Maggie any good?
Seems like a lot of time is wasted following the tracks exactly as the monster is faster. I like the idea of the pet doing that for the team while we cut it off.

Sorry friend, but it's disappointing to lose a double-digit win streak because of something dumb and out of your control, like any one of your three allies not knowing basic concepts.
You can't really carry people as a hunter, and it's really difficult to get my friends to play this because of all the bugs and the party system booting someone out in favor of a random person or just breaking entirely. And even if you do manage to sucker three people into joining you and it doesn't break up the group, one of you will likely get placed as monster for some insane reason. The whole experience is just awful, and playing only monster is the only way to get around it.

I just won my first match, as far as I know, they dont realize you can be killed so easily at first and you gotta be stealthy and hide your tracks while spamming the Smell button. Its a bit of a learning curve if you're not used to it.

It's interesting you mention that. I was actually very eager to play hunter and work with new players when the big update happened, but I only ran into four receptive grounds in the first 30 or so hours of play, and everyone else was just indifferent or hostile about even innocuous things like saying where I was planting mines, asking for scans, etc. At some point you have to stop and just enjoy yourself before the game goes under again, though I do plan to get back into hunter in a few days after some of the more indifferent people have been weeded out and most people who are staying are interested in learning.
Also I don't evolve and I only play Goliath and Bob, so I'm not shitting on people that badly.

Sure thing, anon. I think one of the most important points to keep in mind is that you can't really help people who don't want to be helped. A lot of the time players are like that because they're overwhelmed by all this new sensory input, or they're in a negative emotional state because of previous rough matches, or they've had bad experience with competitive games and take friendly advice the wrong way, likely as sarcasm. Without repeated and prolonged exposure your attempts won't get through to them so don't stress yourself out about it! There are other games and other players to try again on, and eventually someone will benefit from your patience.

the problem is people don't know how to manage it and waste a lot of it rushing to get inside the dome or up a cliff

I bought Val, and I like her, but she wasnt what I expected for a healer. Shes got some nice punch to her, but I much prefer just going all out little to no damage and just focus on keeping the team alive style, should I just stick with Caira? She seemed really good at it and I didnt lose many teammates when I was playing with her.

Sometimes I catch a monster for a good solid 5-10 seconds as Griffin which probably shouldn't be happening. You need to cut the line immediately and pounce towards his direction. Get up in his face. Griffin has a very long cool down and you can throw him off by doing this.
Liking the game well enough when the team is decent and we wipe the monster in like 5min but what the fuck is up with the keys? Get like 50-100 a match.
Also, do perks stack? Have 3 damage perks at R3 but it seems to only make a small difference and mostly on the armor part.

F2P level 5 here. Just played my first match against a Wraith. She completely raped us but we managed to kill her. Her damage is so fucking much and getting hugged into oblivion almost gave me PTSD.

That's the biggest thing about the dome changes I dislike. Before, there was more strategy to who you targeted as the monster.
Trying to burst down the Trapper would mean the dome would fall and you could leave the fight immediately, which is usually the safest option, but you'd have to contend with Support and Medic defenses while taking Assault damage. It was a viable strategy if you were playing to stage up before hard engaging the hunters.
But Trappers aren't really useful anymore except for some negligible CC if you're using your traversals correctly.

Jetpack management is absolutely huge in this game. You need to ALWAYS be considering how to conserve your fuel so you have some to dodge abilities. Never float, press into walls and slowly scale up them at no expense instead of thrusting unless you're in a hurry/full up, let the monster slap you with his meager auto-attacks and wait for the gap in his attacks to thrust away when he uses an ability, and don't be afraid to walk instead of thrusting everywhere; you need the fuel to dodge big attacks way more than you need it to get to your destination one second faster while traveling.
It requires some discipline because hunters are slow as fuck and you feel like you should be boosting around, but always ask yourself if you really need to use your jetpack for something and you'll quickly develop a sense for when it's appropriate to use. You'll be surprised at how often time is on your side as a hunter.

That fucking stasis grenade is just insane. Just spray a fucking field of "fuck you monster, now you crawl" and if your teamates aren't retarded they will lead the monster into it back and forth.
He can deal huge damage ( at least for a trapper ) with his shotgun.
And as soon as the dome is finished he can dart the monster than ( a very good abe ) lobe so long range statis grenade that will totally shit on the monster. Couple that with a caira that doesn't use her sprint like a retard and the monster will never be able to flee once you've engaged him once.
But hey, it's f2p now, consider yourself lucky if the trapper don't forget to use his scan.

Good Griffins are infinitely worse than good Abes. Stasis grenades aren't that good since they only affect walking speed. Behemoth is the only Monster that really feels it. Krakens barely give a shit, Goliath's leap and 2 movement abilities are more than enough mobility, Wraith's the same way.

The decoy is what makes her so annoying to deal with- the hunters need constant coordination to not dir but decoy is an automatic "one of you guys isn't going to be helping or moving for the next 5 seconds" and that's HUGE when constant heals, support and cc are needed to survive a focus.

Well, most of what I know comes from legacy.
But I disagree for the kraken part, statis grenade are active even when in the air and if you touch a flying kraken it will drag him to the ground quite fast, allowing your teamates to deal more reliable damage and reducing his mobiliti by a lot.
Anyway they will have a fucking hard time balancing this game for every skill level. Right now decent monster completely rekt anything in pubs. In legacy competitive the monster never stood a chance, they almost never went stage 2 and it was not really a matter of who was going to kill the other, the monster lost every time. It was the team that kill the monster the fastest who won in most cases.
