The thing is is that both Genji and Hanzo can be game-breaking heroes in the right hands. Hanzo, between his wallhacks, math arrows, and standard hitboxes, can absolutely wreck any chance of a coordinated push. Genji, meanwhile, will bathe in the tears of frustrated squishy class players.
But for every legitimately good player of those two, you'll find 24 shitters who THINK they're good because they saw 30 seconds of a ster or seagull stream and think they know everything.

I'm reminded of when there were rumors about the HotS team and how much they hated their playtesters.
According to the rumors, due to Blizzard's policy of "keep everything as secretive as possible", Blizzard also uses a very small group of playtesters most of whom were originally playtesters for WoW and never played a dota-clone before HotS so naturally they couldn't fucking find all the broken shit that a proper player could, while claiming non-broken shit was borked.

Don't shoot her shield is horrible advice in the wrong context. The main times to not keep shooting her shield is if you have relatively low DPS and are on your own. If you have higher DPS(Reaper, Bastion, Roadhog, Junkrat, Pharah.) you have to make a decision on gambling to feed her charge then burst her down immediately, focus her with your team to bring her down, or wait for a better opportunity to kill her.

If roadhog was McCree tier people would have been filing this complaint prior to McCree being nerfed.
You can deal with roadhog by counting his shots. If he's popped four, that means he won't be able to fire after hooking you, and the only danger is him pulling you into his teammates. McCree can just BLBLBLBLBLBLAM, roll, BLBLBLBLBLBLAM. If he rolls then flashbangs, which is a pretty safe and easy option, he'll definitely have ammo to hit you with during your stun. Roadhog, while he has low CD on his hook, can still face a resource choke when engaged properly. McCree can always pull off his meme combo if he's sitting on abilities, and in the mean time can take as many shots as he likes while keeping his meme combo safely tucked in his pocket, wheras Roadhog can't use his combo after taking too many potshots, and only has a four shot clip.
On top of that, compare his current FTH damage to roadhogs shotgun damage. Hog has 25 pellets per shot which do up to 9 damage for a total of 225 damage. Even Post-Nerf McCree does that with five of his six FTH bullets, and can complete a FTH animation in the same time it takes roadhog to fire, then reload his gun by rolling.

it's pretty clear the hook+shot+melee combo is supposed to one-shot any character that can't evade it or tank it.
namely the squishies in the attack catagorey, cause they do so much damage or move around so fucking fast. or both.
him being able to kill defensive characters at less than full health is a by-product of you not being at full health as a defender.
If you're not full health, don't go near roadhog. You can hear him coming, fight him where he's weak: at a distance.
