Ciri is a virgin
>>
do you know that in witcherverse when unicorn places his head on a virgin abdomen she gets very strongly sexually aroused?

That happens to Ciri in Time of Contempt.
>>
>>148081350

she was a pretty big slut in the books desu
>>
Shani is perfection.
>>
>>148081362
she even moans
>>
>>148081443
That's not how you spell Ciri
>>
>>148081472
No she doesn't!
>>
First playthrough I had all the nice things happen. Ciri became a witcher, viking girl became queen, The North got BTFO, Touissant sisters became friends again etc.

It's all stupid. If I'm playing this again none of that is happening. Ciri should either die or be empress from a narrative perspective. Her death is actually the best ending although you can't continue playing after. Becoming empress is second best. She accepts responsibility and stops running from it. Her becoming a witcher makes no sense if you keep playing up to the expansions. where the fuck is she? Does Emhryr have no spies that discover that an ahsen haired female witcher is working with Geralt. He doesn't dispatch a force to capture Geralt and demand wtf is going on?

Ciri wants to be come a witcher to have fun. Being a witcher isn't fucking fun she is not a mutant either. And in the empress ending she says she wants to do something meaningful and change things and she can't do that by fighting beasts in impoverished god forsaken villages.
>>
jesus, Geralt is a brooding little bitch in Baptism by Fire.
He's surrounded by the coolest motherfuckers in the world and all he can do is say "buuuh go away" dozens of times.
>>
>pick Yen
>do a quest with Triss
>a fancy ball none the less

Massive regret and guilt rush over me. Everyone feels this when pick the Ice Queen right?
>>
>>148082097
>Becoming empress is second best. She accepts responsibility and stops running from it
Read the faggots, book
> Does Emhryr have no spies that discover that an ahsen haired female witcher is working with Geralt.
He is aware of it, he is not stupid, he simply accepts her decision and leaves her alone.
Cause, you know, in the worst case scenario she is an overpowered girl that can travel trough space without problem soooo...

Anyway, not that I think that Witcher Ciri makes sense, but free Ciri does.
>>
>>148076372
>O'Dimm isn't actually all-powerful
this. i figure o'dimm is a demiurge.
>>
>>148082097

Radovid quite obviously didnu nuffin. He is athe best chance the North has to stay independent and he'sa tactical genius. It's best to avoid those quests entirely and have him win the war.
His paranoia about the sorceresses is completely justified after what happened in the second game. Also desperate times call for desperate measures and martial law and the fucking non-huimans and scoiatel where always working with Nilfgaard. Having Dijkstra become king is quite simply retarded tho.

Viking girl shouldn't be queen. She did fuck all in the game and Geralt solved everything for her. Hjalmaar at least has some balls, he fights ice giants and agreed to help against the Wild Hunt, more importantly he's a man, viking warrior cultures shouldn't even get women as leader's it's stupid and she shouldn't have been nominated.

The best ending in Touissant from a narrative perspective is when everyone fucking dies All the decisions that lead to the good ending make no sense of course Gerlkat would want to terminate the threat as quickly as possible especially after Dietlaff chimped out and killed a bunch of people.
>>
>>148081834

yes, you're supposed to feel torn because Gerrard also feels torn.

Both women are worthy of love and you'll have to break someone's heart eventually. Either Yennerfer's, Triss's, or Geralt's.
>>
>>148082097
>She accepts responsibility and stops running from it
Accept responsibility for what? Emhyr sacked her homeland and spent years hellbent on raping her.

>Does Emhryr have no spies that discover that an ahsen haired female witcher is working with Geralt.
He let her go. In the Polish version of the script he tells Geralt "I never wish to see you (plural) ever again".

>in the empress ending she says she wants to do something meaningful and change things
She doesn't, she practically begs Geralt to stop her going.
>>
>>148082651

No...Emhryr wasn't the emperor when Cintra got sacked. Besides she doesn't know he tried to rape her. Geralt does and Emhryr gets over that notion later.
>>
>>148082551
>She did fuck all in the game and Geralt solved everything for her.
well, her plan for tricking the Hym was pretty smart.

>Ciri wants to be come a witcher to have fun. Being a witcher isn't fucking fun she is not a mutant either
Being a witcher is fun for Ciri, who, if she has control of her powers, can basically do whatever she desires, especially now that the Wild Hunt isn't chasing her every time she teleports. If something is giving her trouble she can just teleport it to a random planet that's 100% lava or something.
>>
>>148082595
Aye, but it's all the more sour when I think I picked the wrong girl. If I haven't leveled five levels since then I would go back
>>
>>148082551
>His paranoia about the sorceresses is completely justified after what happened in the second game.

his paranoia is justified because his father was assassinated on the same day of the coup at Thanedd. He grew up knowing that sorcerers are traitorous assholes.
>>
>>148082889
trust me, you'll always think you picked the wrong girl, especially if you read the books.

Yennefer does a lot for Geralt over 20 or so years. Triss obviously does too, over a shorter period of time. The main issue is that Triss doesn't mind showing just how obsessed she is with Geralt in a "friendly" way. Yennefer is afraid of how much she likes him and ends up screwing things up because of it.
>>
>>148082897

Basically it's best to avoid talking to Radovid. Radovid supposedly has all these spies and shit. He didn't know that Geralt was working for Emhryr? He didn't know that Geralt has a history of fucking sorceresses and being manipulated by them? If I was Radovid I would just have Geralt surrounded and imprisoned and torture everything out of him and then kill him

>Hjalmaar at least has some balls, he fights ice giants

Daily reminder that Hjalmar started an expedition while drunk, with no information or strategy on how defeat an ice giant, which ultimately provoked the death of all of his crew, except for two guys, too stubborn to die.

And some people want to give this guy a crown...
Hjalmar is a soldier, not a king.
>>
>>148083090
I've been reading them as of late and that's what pushed me to Yen but game Geralt is what you make of him or, at least not book Geralt. I think my games Geralt would have Triss

But as you said if I picked Triss I'd feel for Yen, it might not be the most healthy of releationships but they love each other and as cold as she can be all she cares about is Ciri and Geralt

it also doesn't help that I find Triss much prettier
>>
>>148082889
Are you doing the quests out of order? Because, following the normal flow, the Triss decision should come first. I'm asking because I'm wondering if you have locked the Yen romance already - that happens during The Last Wish (unicorn sex is a freebie).
Be that as it may, Yen is an awesome person, she does mellow out a bit during the course of the game.
>>
>>148083294

From a story perspective he's better. Ok whatshername becomes the Queen in the ending it says she stopped the raids yet she was a wise ruler and Skellige became rich and prosperous. I feel that was forced in there for normalfags. like how the fuck did that even happen?

I've been all over Skellige and there is fucking nothing there, no farms, nothing to trade , they just have herds of sheep and they are infested with monsters harpies drowners and mermaids raiding is all they have and all they ever had. Besides who the fuck is he gonna trade with? Presumably Nilfgaard didn't forgive her and if they win the war in the North they are gonna be out for revenge. Radovid or Djikstraa if they win?

Wow...
W2 Triss was cute, W3 is a bit meh
Just an opinion
>>
>>148083949

You can go to Skellige at level 15 and do the Yen thing first
>>
>>148083949
Totally out of order, the quest with the Djinn is the lock in right? If so yes I did that levels ago
>>
>>148082773
Mhm, he wasn't? Just casually checking the wiki (I know, it's a very unreliable source, but the timeline is pretty messy in the books anyway), which dates the Slaughter of Cintra in 1263, the rise of Emhyr to the throne in 1257.
>>
>>148084667

It's unclear he definetly didn't start the first Nilfgaard-North war that was some dude called the usurper. Emhryr later overthrew the usurper I dunno if this happened after the war or during the war
>>
>>148084154
>>148084251
Yeah, I know you can go to Skellige early on, was just wondering if that is what happened here.
And yes, it's the Djinn quest where you lock the Yen romance (or not).
I feel the same way, btw. You know it would always be book Geralt's choice, but I personally wouldn't choose Yennefer. I also quite like the cutesy (a bit ott) romance stuff over the hard "let's fuck" sort of come on.
Different strokes...
>>
>>148085191
I just remember (vaguely) the time when Cahir was released from prison? I always remembered it like it was Emhyr who put him there for failing to get Ciri, although I might be wrong.
>>
>>148085224
>I also quite like the cutesy (a bit ott) romance stuff over the hard "let's fuck" sort of come on.
Different strokes...

this is why I always chose Triss
>>
Why cant i pursue a relationship with keira? It's not fair, shes best girl.
>>
>>148085850
Be a bro and let other witchers have some of the good stuff.
Plus, she's got bedbugs. Disgusting.
>>
I dunno why Triss get's so much hate from bookfags. She's basically in almost all of the first book and they mentioned clearly that they were fucking. Triss is also incredibly guilty for wanting Gerlat but can't help herself. Geralt can justifiably stop loving Yennefer. Their love wasn't magical it was regular love that could have wore off, unless it was a spell and if it was a spell then it wasn't real anyway.
>>
>>148086083

The part in the game where Yen really pissed me off was in Kaer Morhen. When your witcher bros who you haven't seen in ages ask you to have a drink with them and she just pulls you out and tells you to fuck her.She clearly wants you to herself and doesn't want you to have fun.

I was like "Yen that's nice and all but muh Witcher bros.." Then She Flips the fuck out and sits at your table anyway which leads to a really akward atmosphere. Why is she such a needy cunt?
>>
>>148086083
The books are a finished story, with a pretty fitting ending, although it's not a typical happy ending, it does end on a "together forever" sort of note for Yen and Geralt. Also, Triss doesn't exactly shine there, as you probably know.
There is a bit of a problem in applying RL reasoning to a story such as this, if you do, sure, love wanes, happens all the time.
The hate from bookfags has more to do with waifufaggotry on either side of the fence, I should think, and some long-time presence of truly unbearable trissfaggotry on /wtc/.
Sensible people will usually act sensible, waifufags will never be sensible people.
(Also - muh canon and everything)
>>
>>148086416
Oh, you really took to the worst possible interpretation here. Not saying you're entirely wrong, of course (she clearly has issues).
You can still have sex with her and hang out with your witcher bros, btw.
>>
>ask you guys how to get to toussaint
>just happen to be hitting the convey for dandelion

There's also Dandelion. This guy would make me become homicidal, sooner or later.
>>
How do I make Triss stay without fucking her?
>>
>>148081386
Does she ever actually get penetrated though? Outside of scissoring with Mistle and getting fingered by the Elven king, I can't remember if she actually sleeps with anyone. I know she was about to pity fuck some bandit dude, but he dies right before she does. I don't think Bonhart ever raped her. So, does she actually get her cherry popped?
>>
>>148089057
Geralt has known Dandelion for like 10 years then, he should know that Dandelion just spouts random shit at all times and you shouldn't really pay attention to him ever.

Just close your eyes and think of Temeria.
(You hardly see anything, it's pretty PG, if that is what worries you).
>>
>>148082773
Emhryr specifically wages war against Cintra to capture Ciri, since he doesn't think he can kidnap her, since Calanthe was sure to keep a watchful eye.
>>
>>148086083
B/c in the books, Triss kinda betrays Geralt/Ciri/Yen.

Forgot the words exactly, but basically, Yen is like "I'm going to try and save Ciri, but if I die, heres how you find her: "

Basically, Yen wants to give the lodge of sorceresses instructions on how to find Ciri in case she fails, in exchange for the Lodge telling Geralt that Yen didn't really betray anyone. The Lodge tells her no, that its in their best interests for Geralt to think Yen died a traitor, so he wouldn't seek revenge.

Then Triss is all "Yen, please forgive me" and Yen is like "Oh no Triss. Never."
>>
>>148090210
Geralt represents the common polish man's desires
>>
>>148090216
No, I'm with Yen and don't want to get dumped by both
>>
>>148089978
Her vagina is cursed, anyone trying to go there dies soon after. Probably why Emhyr decided against it in the end.
Her hymen is probably gone, as for a penis actually getting inside, I'd say books no, pre-game - who the hell knows. Given her libido, I assume she's banged some dude somewhere.
>>
>>148090908
Just let her go, then. Yen will ask her to help out later, so she'll be back.
>>
>>148090570
Well, she does try to (in her mind, at least) achieve a higher purpose. Siding with Yen here would have been a betrayal towards the lodge. While the lodge is a very questionable institution to say the least, her behaviour isn't entirely unjustifiable. Still, not one of her finest hours. It does mostly show that she's easily manipulated and kind of a coward.
But, if we're going there, it's not like Yennefer's actions have been beyond reproach (screwing Geralt and Dandelion when meeting Villentretenmerth, Shard of Ice and all that, dragging Ciri to Thanedd). So, that knife does cut both ways.
>>
>>148091678
Oh I agree, I think both have their faults. My first playthrough (Witcher 3 was my first Witcher game) I picked Triss because I thought she was hotter.

I then read the books, and although Yen is definitely a bigger bitch, I just have to pick her to stay in line w/ the book lore.

If it was me getting to pick, I'd choose Triss. But as Geralt, gotta stick w/ Yen.

Hey Geralt bro! Shame you lost your memory and all but lemme help you get with the program old buddy old pal.

So if you don't remember you have this adopted daughter of yours that is bound to you by destiny. We trained her ourselves here at Kaer Morhen. Oh yes she is a princess and she can teleport between worlds. Crazy shit right? Also she is in deep trouble and is being pursued by the Wild Hunt, but don't worry about that for now we gotta get back our witcher formulas from the Salamanders!

Oh and also, that sorceress you just fucked in the tower? Like what's up with that? I thought you were in love with Yennefer? Woah dude you don't remember her either bro? You were like madly in love with each other for decades dude! Yeah Triss didn't tell you about her? Woah dude bro watch out! I dunno where Yennefer is right now bro but she could be in trouble. All I know is that you were madly in love with her bro. But don't worry about Yennefer you gotta get back at the Salamanders!

The real best answer is to help neither of them. You don't get Hjalmar's rad assist during the fight at Kaer Morhen but Svanrige is a more suitable ruler than both of them. He's smarter than Hjalmar while still retaining qualities of a true Skelliger.

Recommended is lvl 30, but a bit lower is definitely fine. There's a boss pretty early on, if you don't have any trouble beating him, rest of the expansion should go just fine for you.
People usually start during Final Preparations while in Novigrad, but doing it before finding Ciri gets you a few extra lines of dialogue.

I've heard it said that an alchemy built is lots of fun, and a bit more challenging to begin with. I'm not seeing the point of making Geralt too much of a specialist, but I'm planning to go more alchemy heavy next time.

So I want your guys opinions on something. The end of Heart of Stone, is it worth getting Iris and the Serpentine Silver Sword on new game when both will get outdated fairly quick in Blood and Wine and NG+? Or is it better to take a reward from Odimm the first time around and just get Iris and SSS in NG+?

I can't really decide, all the rewards are kind of disappointing besides maybe endless vodka or the Caparison of Lament, which wouldn't be so bad if not for the flies and the one bugged out eye.

I found Adrenaline build with Ursine armor the most fun to play.

Whirl/Rend build I found the most overpowered. Just Spin to Win most of the time, for everything else spam Rend ftw. Only stopped using it because it was incredibly boring to play and trivialized all content.

I'm doing BaW post HoS now, and I've used both swords for a bit, they got obsolete fairly quickly though. (Going from HoS to NG+ I used the Viper Silver Sword for a long time.)
I think when doing the expansions before going for NG+ grabbing a reward makes more sense.
You won't get much use for the swords either way, but at least you don't waste your wish with Gaunter.

I'm a grill, I'm allowed to like sexy looking lads.
What's wrong with Cat? It does look great. I'm quite fond of Ursine as well, but I'm not really in the market for heavy armor.
>>
>>148106439
The problem with Cat is it just looks too... what's the word? Faggoty.

Heavy aint so bad, you can always enchant it to be whatever type you want, or just focus more on adrenaline and use rage management.

Ursine, Wolf, Viper, and Manticore are the only good looking Witcher sets.
>>
>>148105685
Is that really how it works? I always expected there to be some sort of catch, since that does sound like it's totally OP.
>>
>>148106303
Alright, what's your opinion on the rewards then, endless vodka or the caparison of lament?

Neither have a large impact, a 100 stamina saddle vs a what is it 95 you get in B&W? not that big a difference, but it does make Roach black which is nice, though she is swarming with flies and has one bugged out eye.

On the other hand the infinite vodka, well. Not like there is any shortage of vodka in the game, but it would mean you can freely just sell all alcohol from then on which is kinda neat from an income perspective.
>>
>>148106816
Yeah that's how it works. It's stupid and hard to pass up.

>>148106609
Don't find Cat armor faggoty at all, but I guess it's a matter of taste. I find Griffin to look absolutely ridiculous, so, my Geralt won't be seen dead in this thing. Apparently some people like it nonetheless.
Manticore isn't doing it for me either. Looks like Geralt is about to go to the docks to lift some boxes.

While we're at it - is the grandmaster wolf school armor set bonus doing anything whatsoever? Looks to me Geralt is throwing bombs just as fast/slow as he always was...
>>
>>148106898
Caparison of Lament. I've been wanting that saddle so bad.
I just want to have a stroll through Toussaint on my mean looking hellspawn of a horse.
I've never suffered from lack of alcohol, so wodka wouldn't make much sense for me. Sure, might be good to boost your purse a bit, but I'd go for the funfactor and get the saddle.
>>
>>148107380
Manticore is mostly great because of the throwback. Looks the exact same as the gear he wears in the first game. Dunno if wolven is bugged or not. Try throwing bombs by holding and aiming rather than just tapping for a quick throw. Maybe the difference is there instead.
>>
>>148106984
I think I'll pass it up all the same. I already got Second life activated, which might just be the perfect non-gamebreaking buff for me - and I find it mostly useful since loading times are so awfully long, and I'm mostly spared the ordeal now.

>>148108712
Fleet Footed is probably the best for avoiding damage altogether.

Normal dodges don't protect you from damage if dodging forwards, whereas fleet footed will cover that. You're immune during the entire animation ,aside from the few attacks that can't be dodged like griffin wing attack.

Man, I totally missed that. I feel kinda silly now. That does make it look 100% better, for some reason. I'm still not going to use it, ultimately. I'll probably remain faithful to Cat, since the bonuses are kinda nice.

I have it, but not maxed out. I kind of heard it doesn't do anything though? Never pursued it much, I just have it sitting in my skill tree hoping it's worth it, it also adds +10 via red Great Mutagen, so I guess it's doing some good.
>>
>>148109952
There used to be weird rules before 1.22 that made it less useful than it is now.

It was always the case that dodging gave complete immunity to damage during the entire animation from everything aside the handful of attacks that cannot be dodged like griffin wing attack or golems aoe.

Thing was, fleet footed only negated damage when dodging forwards, which is still the case, though not everyone knew that you can't get immunity while dodging forwards otherwise. It only works in any other direction on its own, you need fleet footed to negate damage when dodging forwards.

Now the real bug was that geralt needed a period of rest in order to trigger the immunity, so if you dodged immediately after a sign or another attack, or even another dodge, the immunity wouldn't take hold and you'd get hit anyways.

Someone actually found the bit of broken code that caused that issue and reported it to CDPR, they fixed it in 1.22. Now anytime you dodge, you are immune, even if you just came into it off an attack or another dodge.

So adding fleet footed is pretty much more than worth it now, since with it you wont have to worry about your direction when you dodge.

It's actually true that being a witcher would be a short-lived adventure for Ciri, as she is no mutant.

However, at the end of the books she is such a motherfucker than she can reflect a bolt fired from a crossbow (and actually if she didnt then geralt would die as he jumped to cover her with his own body)

Also, I would like to remind you that if the witchers from kaer morhen would know how to use grasses and mutagens they would try to mutate her, even knowing that's 80% chance of her dying.

>>148082773
You're wrong, he was. He was already an emperor during the battle of sodden hill. And he actually purged most his generals for this lost battle.

>>148083805

>>148084013

Keira is just a stupid, vain whore, especially in the books.
> She thinks she can take on a witcher who has killed Vilgefortz

>>148089978
No and yes, she's "mostly" a virgin. In books there's not a word about Bonhart raping her, he just humiliates her and makes her his slave.

You can know that she was not raped because when she meets that unicorn from the desert again he says "then i didnt knew what to do, now I know" and puts his head on her abdomen
>>
>>148110909
>Also, I would like to remind you that if the witchers from kaer morhen would know how to use grasses and mutagens they would try to mutate her, even knowing that's 80% chance of her dying.

They never ever had the intention of subjecting her to it, being a girl.

>Just remember than in books her tits are scarred so much she does not wear cleavages.

Mentally scarred actually. She was fully healed and had her full appearance returned to her.

>No and yes

It's not no and yes, it's just a flat out no. She was never penetrated. Everyone that tried died before they got the chance. Only person she was ever with sexually was Mistle, whom was also a girl, so no penetration.
>>
>>148090570
True.

Also bookfags dont like Triss because she is clearly a weak-willed and cowardly character, it's said a lot in the books.

It's also said that she seduced Geralt not because she liked him, but because she was bored with her sexual life. She fell in love just after.

Imagine what a cunt you have to be to seduce your best friend's boyfriend just because of boredom.

>>148091061

Why was dragging a Ciri to Thannedd wrong? If not for the Upheaval, Ciri would became a Sorceress.

>>148095624

>>
>>148111538
>Why was dragging a Ciri to Thannedd wrong? If not for the Upheaval, Ciri would became a Sorceress.

Think the problem was when she tried to stop the upheaval by taking ciri up to tissaia and the rest to show her one of her vision quest trips.

Shit went bad after that, though it was obviously already pretty bad.

Probably should have just teleported the both of them away or something. Instead she did that and got turned into a statue.
>>
>>148111215
>They never ever had the intention of subjecting her to it, being a girl.
They did. Books suggest a lot that they were totally irresponsible. They wanted Triss to try it, but she yelled at them hard for even thinking about it.
Also they gave her mushrooms that could destroy her hormonal balance leaving her with manly posture and no tits.

>Mentally scarred actually. She was fully healed and had her full appearance returned to her.

How do you get your tits "mentally" scared? That not what she says in the books. She says that not everything is curable by magic and that she cant wear a cleavage. It definitely suggests some form of scarring.

In witcherverse magic healing isnt perfect and does not work ideally. You can see it in Geralt's broken bones - he was healed by the best specialists there were (Dryads) and still he never got back his full condition.

>>148111770
Hmm, Youre somewhat right, but shit went wrong not because Ciri started to prophesize (it just fucked the plans of the mages representing northern kings) but because Tissaia, who was a very powerful mage in her own right, refused to believe that Vilgefortz is guilty in any way and destroyed the anti-magic barrier.

After that Vilgefortz's lackeys started murdering everyone.

Tissaia has killed herself for that mistake, you know.

Also, you can't teleport on Thanned, there's that fucked up portal in the Tower of the Gull which distorts teleportation.
>>
>>148110909
There's some wrongness here.

>Witchers would mutate Ciri if only they knew how to
Nope. It may not even work on women at all. It was never the plan to make Ciri a mutant.
>Triss's tits are scarred so much she does not wear cleavages
Definitely not. The scars are a psychological thing mostly ("You can hardly see any scars" Triss, BoE)
>Keira is just a stupid, vain whore. She thinks she can take on a witcher who has killed Vilgefortz
Said Vilgefortz beat Geralt within an inch of his life earlier and only left him alive on a whim. For all means and purposes, Geralt should not be able to best Keira under the circumstances in the game, at least not that easily.
>being "mostly" a virgin
Is that like being "mostly" pregnant?
>>
>>148111215
>It's not no and yes, it's just a flat out no
That does kind of depend on your definition of virginity. I'm pretty sure Auberon got a finger or two in there, Mistle definitely did. Who knows what else she put there (you can penetrate a vagina with inanimate objects, you know). As for an actual flesh and blood penis, I agree, in the books that didn't happen.
>>
In the books Triss clearly suffered from PTSD after Sodden. Its symptoms include flashbacks to the traumatic event and wanting to avoid things that remind you of said event. She wanted to avoid showing cleavage not because she was horribly scarred but because looking at her chest would remind her of the time she was.
>>
>>148111538
>seduce your best friend's boyfriend just because of boredom
Well, they were on a break... Usually people claim that this is not actual cheating. It still was a shitty thing to do, surely.
>Why was dragging a Ciri to Thannedd wrong?
Yen pretty much admits it was a terrible mistake. While she couldn't have foreseen how things would ultimately go down, she must have been aware it wasn't even close to being a safe place at the time. She also totally failed in protecting her in a meaningful way during the coup - so did Tissaia, who I assume urged her to drag the girl there in the first place. Really, the reason for Ciri being present are kind of flimsy. It's not like Tissaia couldn't just have said "Listen up folks, you won't believe what I learned just recently..."
>>
>>148111538
>Why was dragging a Ciri to Thannedd wrong?

She risked Ciri's life for political reasons.
>>
>>148112092
Did you even read the books? She yelled at them because she was a young girl starting puberty and they were giving her serious and hard physical training. They did that because they didn't know anything else to do and thought teaching her to defend herself would be a good thing. They never had plans to give her any mutations.

Triss says herself before that "I'll never wear dresses with cleavage" bit that she was fully healed, and you couldn't even see the scars anymore. She just wouldn't use them anymore because of the mental scarring, it would remind her of what they looked like when she was a cooked raisin.

>Also they gave her mushrooms that could destroy her hormonal balance leaving her with manly posture and no tits.
You really should reread the section. They gave her some herbs that contained steroids, not pausing to think what effect that might have on her metabolism, and they do feel shitty about it once it's pointed out to them. The plan was never to have Triss (of all people) mutating her, she even remarks on them being really secretive about their potions and whatnot. She's there to help them deal with Ciri's source powers, that's it.
Even

>How do you get your tits "mentally" scared?
You must be kind of bad of understanding things that are not literally spelled out for you...
She's fucking traumatised, that's what the mental scarring is about. She got her entire chest burned to a charcoaly bloody mess, and the image will never leave her. Even though she looks fine now, she can't forget. That's the thing "magic cannot cure".

>Geralt's broken bones still messed up
He also left before the healing process was complete, against the advice of the dryads. Healing powers aren't too good in witcherverse though, that one's true. Still, boobs are way easier than bones and joints imho; it's just a bit of fat, skin, milk glands and fibrotic tissue. Just think on the ugly hunchback Yen used to be, and she cut up the nerves in her wrists pretty bad. Still turned out pretty as a peach and doesn't suffer from scarring or handicaps.

>mutation
There's a rant in the book in which Triss is shouting at Geralt that he seeing emotions of Ciri make him angry so much he is seriously thinking about using grasses and it touches Geralt so much she even shouts at her "SHUT UP MERIGOLD"

Also witcher's arent known of talking openly of their plans. Triss definitely suspects them of wanting to try and it's suggested that they really thought about it.

Even Lambert says one moment "it's just a child like any other and we will do with it the same we did with any other"

>Keira
She was a weak mage, and she almost died on Thanned, Geralt saved just by pure luck (he caught her when Artaud Terranova has thrown her out of the window)

The moment in Witcher 3 when she attacks you if you tell her that you won't allow her to go to Radovid is already after Geralt killed Vilgefortz and she knows that, she was in the Lodge.

>you can't teleport on Thanned,
My my my... You can, obviously, after the barrier was lifted and the mages start throwing magic at one another. Several mages do teleport the hell out of there, Tissaia teleports both Triss and Geralt later.

No. Teleporting is possible after the Tower of The Gull explodes, not after lifting the barrier. And it does at the end of The Upheaval, when Ciri goes through the portal and it explodes right in Vilgefortz face.

Artaud Terranova was later killed by Geralt just as easily as every shitty-tier bandit
Geralt also killed Vilgefortz, not so easily, but as you can see in the books Keira-tier mage would have NO chances against Vilgefortz.

During the final fight Yen (who i think is better mage than Keira) is almost useless, unable to hurt him at all. Vilgefortz does with her whatever he pleases.

>Geralt that he seeing emotions of Ciri make him angry so much he is seriously thinking about using grasses and it touches Geralt so much she even shouts at her
You what now? That argument is not about making Ciri a witcher, not even a little bit.

>Even Lambert says...
"“Devil take it,” said Lambert after a long silence. “I am listening to you half-convinced that someone here has already lost their marbles and will, any moment now, present a threat to the rest of us. Destiny, sources, spells, hocus-pocus… Aren’t you exaggerating, Merigold? Is this the first child to be brought to the Keep? Geralt didn’t find destiny; he found another homeless, orphaned child. We’ll teach the girl the sword and let her out into the world like the others. True, I admit we’ve never trained a girl in Kaer Morhen before. We’ve had some problems with Ciri, made mistakes, and it’s a good thing you’ve pointed them out to us. But don’t let us exaggerate. She is not so remarkable as to make us fall on our knees and raise our eyes to the heavens. Is there a lack of female warriors roaming the world? I assure you, Merigold, Ciri will leave here skilful and healthy, strong and able to face life."
Never about to mutate her, not even close.

>>Keira was a weak mage
True. Artaud Terranova was sort of, you know, kind of a big deal. Not quite the same going up against one of the greatest sorcerers of the time or going up against a dude with a sword. Far range attacks and teleportation should make this one an easy win for Keira.

Compare that to Yenn who did everything wrong: cheated on Geralt, used and abused him, brought Ciri to Thanedd, got turned into a statue because she's a shitty sorceress, was useless damsel in distress for the last two books, manipulated Ciri into joining the Lodge in her name and thus gaining full control of her elder blood powers etc. The only good thing she did was trying to heal Geralt at the end but even then she failed because of her garbage powers. Even Ciri acts completely cold towards her then, probably because she's finally seen through her manipulative nature.

Well, Philippa's league had a pretty good idea that exactly that had happened, they only underestimated the extent of the betrayal. While you can make the argument that Yen and Tissaia weren't aware of this, they were aware some shit was going to go down (at least that Phil was up to something).
Really, a room full of scheming, arrogant and self-serving political minded mages I'd assume is never a safe place, no matter the circumstances, and definitely not for a teenage girl who just so happens to be the prize everyone wants to get their hands on. Allright, You've won here. I just liked the idea.

But you were mistaken about teleporting on thanned ;^

and about Artaud and Keira - from what I remember, Artaud did not won a mage duel with Keira, she was beaten and thrown from the window by scoia'tael, Artaud just added a kick in the ribs. That in consideration makes her even more shitty mage.

> Far range attacks and teleportation
It isnt so easy. Witcher is fast and has inhuman reflexes. You know that in shooting practice there is a distance in which a guy with a knife always win over a guy with the gun, because he manages to run to him and stab faster than he is able to unholster and aim a gun?

Dont remember exactly, but its not a small distance, it's something about 10 or 8 meters. It would not be so easy for a mage to just "teleport about and shoot fireballs until geralt dies". Also we need to remember that both making a portal and using offensive magic takes a while.

>Keira clearly says that Tissaia destroying the barrier was a thing that most thought impossible.
Yeah, but again, that's only Garstang. Step to the side a few metres and magic'll work just fine. Even considering physical violence only, Vilgefortz has an advantage here, being an experienced warrior, and while people may not have known about the Scoia'tael, the presence of Dijkstra and his alliance with Phil was widely known about, so it could have been expected they had some Redanian officers on the premises (which they did). Even though they might have expected violence from another direction, they could (and should) have expected violence. Tissaia (and by extension, Yennefer) are exceptionally naive there.

Just like Yen put it, people make mistakes, it happens. I'm not saying this is a thing that can't happen or is inexcusable. It still was a mistake.

It all boils down to preparation and exhaustion, though, one way or another.
In the game, Keira is expecting Geralt and should have had time to prepare appropriately. Just look at the damage/prowess Triss and Yen display during the battle of Kaer Morhen.
He does have a chance to kill her (and does so) because the game demands it, and follows its own sort of game logic.
It does require some suspension of disbelief, though. Magic is sometimes really fucking powerful, sometimes (when you drag a sorceress along for quests for example) they hardly manage to kill a fucking drowner with it.
It is what it is, but to me, Geralt could not have won this fight.
>>
Reminder that Yen was so badass that
>She held Triss' hair during the battle of Sodden and shouted "get back to the fight, bitch" when the latter vomited in fear and wanted to run away

> She killed an elf with a knife without hesitation when he tried to catch Ciri during Thannedd Upheaval as she couldnt use magic (the plotters would find them if she did)

>Romance with her is fucked for the second time in a row

Should I go for a third playthrough just for Triss? Is the romance worth it or is it just fillers? Would love to see how things play out with Yenn when you're with Triss. Is she mad? Jealous much?

I don't understand why people get triggered by that line. Geralt doesn't know shit about saving the world and he doesn't care. How can a simple witcher have more experience about saving the world than someone who travels between time and space? He is a hundred years old man with vodka and whores on his mind, whereas Ciri has always been destined for greater things.
>>

CDPR shitting on the lore yet again.

>I'm just saying that there's no way for Yen to foresee that, given the circumstances, she was in right to believe both she and Ciri to be safe
Yeah, I'm pretty sure she did what she thought was best, so did Tissaia, for that matter. Just, didn't work out that way. Poor Ciri, really. Everything turned to shit for her after that.
>>
>>148115652
I think it's some remainder of different meaning of that word in older polish language.

It's the same with the word "kutas". Today it means "dick" and is very vulgar, but in 17th century it meant just "a knot at the end of the rope"

You even have a polish national epic which says that it's hero has a lot of kutases hanging from his belt ; )
>>
>>148115669
I've romanced both, there are only small changes, dialogue is a bit different, obviously, the rest is pretty much the same.
If you don't want to do it, don't do it.
And yeah, Yen is pretty mad, but gets a hold of herself pretty quickly, maybe she is sort of relieved herself? The Last Wish is a bit rough, though.
>>
>>148115669
>Is the romance worth it
No
>>
>>148115909
It tripped me up a bit, even though it's supposedly a throwback to some line in the books, so I guess I'll have to forgive her.
Ciri has never been destined for anything more than having some guys seed pumped in her, so, she should want to reject that destiny more than anyone else.
She also fails her great quest if you don't throw snowballs at her and tell her to calm down and not fuck up other people's shit. It feels wrong for her to say this to Geralt after displaying that degree of needyness and cluelessness (or unconsciousness) for most of the game.

>5th or 6th playthrough

My fucking bro. I love this game so much.

Currently doing my second playthrough after clearing the whole map and doing pretty much everything in vanilla. Now going DM + upscaling , and the game blows me the fuck away every time I turn it on, it's that amazing.

I have to say alchemy + crit build (cat school) make the game so fucking easy even in DM + upscaling (only the Djinn gave me some trouble yesterday). I switched to heavy attack + alchemy build, to add some risk/reward but haven't had a chance to try it out yet. DPS is going to be off the roof.

I haven't even started the expansions. never played anything quite like this, and lord knows I've been playing a shit tone of games in my life.
>>
>>148114949

At least Yennefer tried to make up for her mistake (she failed but at least she tried) but Tissaia didn't even try it before she killed herself.

>>
Witcher 1> Witcher 3>Witcher 2
>>
>>148116612
I've done just about every type of build there is.

Most are just too damn cheesy so I always keep going back to some kind of Hybrid.

Been Death March since the release of the game. Upscaling has been pretty cool though it does fuck up some stuff and needs to be turned off occasionally. The Djinn fight was impossible with it. Literally impossible.

Last build I tried was a Rend/Whirl build and got so fucking bored with it. Nothing quite as anti fun as fighting an Elemental or whatever and just stunlocking it with Rend spam until it dies.

Don't blame me, blame A Sap, Ciri a womb is canon.
I did get the Witcher ending (although Bad Dad makes more sense narratively), but I've never proclaimed Ciri best daughterfu and never will. Kind of glad she's not mine.
The disconnect probably stems from Geralt being a pretty flawed person in the books himself, so it all fits, whereas my game Geralt is a splendidly helpful and fairly balanced individual who has to put up with flawed people.

Plotwise, TW2 is a lot tighter and makes more sense overall, characters are very interesting as well. Making tough choices was implemented well also, and felt very important and like really having an impact.
Obviously, all of that got cast aside during TW3, that just cleaned the slate with one big swipe, sadly enough.
I'm curious, since I very much liked the first game as well, what's your gripe with TW2? I initially struggled with the combat quite a bit, but after I got my bearings I pretty much loved it anyway (with the exception of the truly shitty alchemy system).
I always expected some major twist in the end of TW3, it was kind of sad that none of that came to pass. Yup, Eredin's a generic bad guy, Avallac'h really is a nice helpful fella looking out for Ciri, and Emhyr's plan really is just that simple.

>>
>>148124552
How did it not make sense? I'm in the camp that dislikes the main story as well, but I can still admit that the main threads from the previous game (finding Yennefer and the 3rd Nilfgaardian invasion) were resolved, and the plot itself was rather straightforward (find Ciri and defeat the Wild Hunt).

Two quick questions about Witcher 3.
Got through the main story of Velen and I want to explore a little all those question marks.
Is there any way to get the path to your custom marker in the minimap, or just quests/disable it?
Also what makes the question marks appear? There are a lot right off the bat but when I pick some papers from boards that are not contracts, sometimes it says some new markers are added.

Reminder that you are not a true bookfag if you don't let Radovid The Stern win the war.

"Nobody shouts, "Long live Radovid", thought the prince covered by the hierarch's fat ass. No one even looks at me. No one is screaming in honour of my mother. No one remembers my poor father. Even today, at a day of triumph, which he so richly deserved. After all, that's why he was murdered.
He felt a gaze on his neck. Delicate like someone he did not know - or knew, but only in his dreams. Something that was soft like a brush of a woman's warm lips. He turned his head. He discovered the dark unfathomable eyes of Philippa Eilhart fixed on him.
Wait, thought the prince, looking away. Just wait.
No one could predict or guess then that this boy of thirteen years, which at that time was a person without any relevance in a country ruled by the Regency Council and by Dijkstra, would become king. A king who, after he paid all the insults that had been given to his mother and him, would go down in history with the name Radovid the Stern." -A. Sapkowski, Lady of the Lake

The games also turned Triss into Geralt's primary love interest, Foltest into a bro, and let Geralt side with terrorist elves. CDPR has been taking creative liberties since TW1.

>Eredin is an evil bad guy who wants to kill Ciri (??) and conquer everything.
The aen elle have to flee their world because of the white frost. They need Ciri's powers to relocate. They already conquered the world they currently inhabit, so wanting to conquer Geralt's is nothing new.

>Yennefer didn't look for Geralt for 2 years and she can't explain it why.
Blame TW1 and TW2 for not including the two most important characters next to Geralt. All of TW2 bullshit should have been scrapped and Geralt should have gone after Yennefer once Triss told him about his past.

>Why did Nilfgaard invade for the 3rd time? I have no idea.

As much as Geralt owns being a witcher and trained Ciri that way because it is the only way he knows how to live, he kind of detests his way of life.

Seeing as how he is a father figure to Ciri, he will for sure teach her what he knows, and how to survive in this world but who in their sober mind would wish their child to be an outsider, vagrant, and almost a beggar, killing monsters for pennies and without the witcher enhancements that give them edge over these monsters?

Seriously, that's my main gripe. How long do you think she'll survive as a witcheress without potions and reflexes/healing factor given by the trial of grasses? She is better off learning Yen's/Avalach's ways of being a sorceress or time lord than a witcher.
>>
>>148124137

It was never described in detail in the games, so they simply took creative liberties with it. It's the same as Ciri being turned into the child of destiny, not her offspring, or false Ciri not existing etc. Look, as I already said I didn't like the story so I'm not gonna defend it, I only pointed out that within the given narrative it makes sense. You either accept it or remain a book purist. Imo the game had way more serious issues with writing than anything mentioned here.
