Here's a simple method for NA players to import the EU data needed to get their MHGen bonuses.

Place the 'filer' folder on your root. Install SaveDataFiler.cia and open it. Go to the SD tab and press A to import this ext save data (00001261). Note this shouldn't affect your other data because the US game is 00001263.
Even if you already started your save file, go under New Game and run through the Claim Extras menu. It should say the MH4U data read was successful. Then just speak to your housekeeper to claim your bonus. No need to install EUR 4U.
Welp, I tried to convert from x to gen but I can't, it just crashes before the opening cinematic. Hope someone smarter comes up with a solution.

Okay, got char conversion working. GC is correct, no crashes or anomalies during 15min of testing. Only issue just as with 4U is that all JP chars are "???" so you'll need to edit your kawaii cat or hunter name perhaps. Now to fix DLC stuff for bonus swag.

I fixed global drag n drop support on my end. DLC is indeed a little more complicated than expect thanks to their new shit system that splits every quest into a ton of seperate files which reference each other. Will see if I can come up with something. But essentially it would involve unpacking every DLC quest archive, patch the language reference to the game language you are using (or the more sophisticated approach: just create dupes of the JP files for every Multi5 language) and repack the shit, then rewrite to the DLC partition. ugh

The only incompatibilities that I found are Palico names/comments with nip characters appear as a bunch of questionmarks and there are some guild card titles labeled as DUMMY. I guess the titles will be overwritten when the DLC is released. As for the Palicoes, a hex editor/save editor will take care of that.

Meanwhile in MHX IG only uses Hellblade Daito unless you fight something blast resistant, in which case you use Sand Hell Anchor, simply because all the more specific IGs have good stats but don't have white sharpness unless you use handicraft, which may as well not exist in Gen.

And in 4U hunting those monsters actually had a fucking purpose. Besides, the wack ass progression in Gen makes your gear eventually so overpowered that nothing but Lv10 deviants can kill you anyway.
And are you seriously praising Gen for removing options and choices so you don't have to think about your progression?
What, would you like them to remove everything but GS so you have a "clear-cut" choice laid out for you for your weapon? Remove different stats entirely and just have gradually increasing "damage" points?
