Why?
>>147766056
because pogeyman

>>147765646
We can fix a lot of the problems ourselves, since the game is partially opensource.
The trouble would be distributing it legally.

I got bored of it very quickly. Way too based on RNG. Crapshoot whether you hit things or find specific pokemon. I guess the story's worth something if you're into that.

Believe or not, im a fan of pokemon.
But after how they fucked everyone leaving the game everyone wanted as:
"break the glass and make this game in case of nintendo is about to die" is pure jewness, and instead we have cheap shit like the gameboy games or even more retarded shit like this one.
I didnt even knew about this new one, but i started to see the shitposting of people with guns and pokemons inserted in phone screenshots mixed with photos.
>search about the new game
>results are about people geting in places they shouldnt to "catch" one, accidents because if they didnt raised their heads to look arround because of normie social media, now its worse because they are like WoWfags waiting for a random quest (yes, those who shat in socks to not abandon the computer), car accidents because some random shit appear in the dash of the car.
>>147770623
I see normies dying as a result of pokemon go or snapchat speed filters as a way of natural selection asserting itself

MAREEEEEEEEEEK IM GONNA FUCKING MURDER YOU.
mad machinecrafts the lot of you
>>147781103
ha, they did. They just took your car and changed a few things around it. Its got the same dimensions and everything.
>guys name is "rashid"
You can actually report players that copy designs, but hes changed so much little shit I dont know if they'd hassle him about his copy.
Also rename your cars better. Robocrafts shitty search function basically only checks the first word of your robots name.
So if the first word in your robots name is a popular word, or a word thats used alot, you'll be alot more likely to have people find your stuff.
But, then again, Robocucks store is rigged as fuck. The only people whos robots make tons and tons of sales are usually streaming/youtube fags that get tons of 12 year olds to buy their builds, people who just got lucky and got a few sales with good ratings that launched them to the front page where they got more and more sales, and people who just get their friends to buy their robots and give them 5/5 reviews to get on the front page.
>>147781481
Yep, I just ran into this.
>>147782407
I noticed, which is why I don't think I'll bother with the store much anymore. I just drift around low CPU brackets and upload them if someone asks.I like how he destroyed the front and removed/replaced the engine. Just like the typical Middle-Eastern car salesmen you get around here.
>>147782440
>on the next update
>all the shit is on dev pass to stable
I think it was 1 month already.
>mfw i bought the game but i will have to pirate it to have a working game because every patch fucks up something.
If thats the case ill post that in their forums, i dont care the warnings or bans.
>>147782903
I'm on stable, too.
>>147782757
The other thing about the robocuck store is that now people can buy peoples builds, and make the out of parts they already have for free.
And since the seller only gets 10% of the buying price when a sale is made, enjoy your big fat payout of 10% of fucking nothing, because they built it for free.
>>147783261
I don't mind the zero income thing as much if it gets more players into doing mad skids.
The problem is them buying my cars, spinning out once and then deciding then and there that drifting is impossible, I think. Haven't run into many other diehard drifters in matches yet, which is kind of disappointing.
>>147783017
Im gonna find the lastest rally working version i remember wich was the 1.134, since then everything went to shit.
I think steam underground forums has almost all versions since planets were released.
>1st was the detaching rotors when locked on blueprints
>then was the rotors not recognizing anything after being locked
>then the entire fucked up in the building system
>now i cant even build a simple shit platform
I also went back to stable, and could do the fall test.
Now with 3 refineries instead of 2, and less assemblers, but with all the slots with modules, but also less cargo space.
>>147783687
This happens with a lot of peoples robots.
Fucking idiots buy it, lose a single match with it because they suck dick, and blame it on your robot and rate it 0/5. Then it never gets any sales again.
If that ever happens just take it off the shop and re-upload it.
>>147783730
And i was right, this guys have all versions since the planets release, the bad thing is... i have to start from 115 (torrent) and update 1 by one untill i reach 134.
But ill do this only 1 time.
Ill post if i have results. so i can recomend to any spengos user to do the same.
Since you bought the licence to the game, you can do whatever the fuck you want with it.

The best part is that before, guns /without/ the button used to be illegal. So they made it a mandatory feature - and are now outlawing it.
ps: REM crashed for the first time for me. I usually maximize my window (not full screen) and have no issues. To try and reduce lag I played with a smaller screen and I crashed upon entering Flight Test. Maybe the problem is based on screen size.

Its a cheap solution to just add counterweight.
Also, the weight could change depending of the shit i gather.
Both have like 500k in ore and ingots.
In the old version, the ingots and ore are on one side, and the components in the other, so after mining, one side ends up filled and heavy, while the components side has 200 of each, but they arent heavy enough.
Still, the new version have less cargo space, wich i need to rework again, because i cant fit the same amount of cargo.

I dont know, they fucked up everything since that 134 version.
Now im happy because that torrented works more than ok, the only shit is the havok fiasco wich forces me to change the date after i start it, but if that is the only downside, ill take it.
And can build stuff like allways, without issues, make blueprints and if i even want to, have the original game with all its shit.

not sure you got what i meant
i didn't mean physical garages, i meant "garages" as in Ferrari/Marlboro, Red Bull etc
>>147833680
Here's another suggestion
Rotating a module in the editor should also rotate the grid, so that node locations are consistent with the grid. If you want to connect a beam with a module that's rotated right now you need to disable gridsnap or rely on the overly automatic welding, if you could just rotate the grid to fit the object instead that would be great.
>>147837383
YARM and EvoGUI
>>147837663
The grid remains consistent for a couple reasons, one of them being consistency itself. I'll look into making it an option though. Might not be feasible for now.
>rely on the overly automatic welding
What do you mean specifically by this?
>>147837435
>i didn't mean physical garages, i meant "garages" as in Ferrari/Marlboro, Red Bull etc
Er...
No, that doesn't help. Did you mean sponsors? Or advertisements? We were kinda toying with the idea of having decals for different manufacturers that give a bonus to the winnings and the reputation gain you get. Or perhaps getting sponsored means decals are automagically spammed over a few sections of your vessel like in Nascar or F1. Honestly not a damn clue what you actually meant by garages if its not physically related to garages.
If you meant manufacturers, then we will have at least a few different distinct producers of parts that will have a consistent theme, such as one being more durable but lower performing and another being mostly focused on movement systems and so on.
>>147833104
Helghast tech is great.
>>147838485
speaking of the building grid. It would be nice if modules placed down always had their connection points accessible even if you're on a different grid level, would also be nice if you could connect to vertexes when on any grid level.

>>147810173
>warheads on rotors

think subrosa
replace the corporations and mafias with sponsors and garages
that's what i meant
>>147841114
Could you elaborate for us anons not familiar with subrosa?
>>147840156
Some function of auto-snapping within a given distance of the cursor, regardless of grid elevation then? When welding parts is only possible through those connection points, that should be a very good addition.
For everyone that is having problems with the latest build of REM, we're just now testing a version that seems to work flawlessly on a machine we have that it was crashing on pretty reliably before. (AMD phenom II x4 840T with a HD7870 litterally jammed into it, and 12gb of mismatched RAM running windows 10) Hope is that we're going to be able to push that out ASAP.
>>147841114
So more of a company that MAKES the vessels? I've never really been a fan of the whole 'Mafia' thing though, always seemed out of place unless it was built into the main concept like the God Father or, indeed, Sub Rosa. We can, of course, emulate it quite well with black/grey market and underground conglomerates though.

You better find a better way to store and drop the bombs, because if not, you will have to stay static to drop them to avoid exploding your own ship
>>147845325
I had a problem with that before, fixed it.
The bombs always drop perfectly (did like 10 bombing runs to test), except if i go over 70-80 they stop dropping for some reason
Is concrete really worth the hassle to make? Stone paths give x1.30 walking speed while concrete paths do x1.40. Is there some other bonus? Doesn't really seem like it'd be worth it.

in subrosa, 3 teams (corporations) try to win different mafia/corporate espionage themed missions. each team gets a different objective from the others every mission. for example, grey might have a floppy disk they want to trade to the highest bidder, yellow might have a wad of cash, and black might have the objective to acquire the grey disk at any cost and protect their own black disk
the black company can fake that they have the cash, or go all out and shoot up the other companies HQ, drive bys on the transaction site, intercepting the carriers etc. grey might tell black that yellow told them they have cash, yellow might tell everyone that they actually have a disk, etc
since you don't know what the other companies want or have and have to trust what they tell you (or not) it makes for some very interesting social gameplay. not entirely sure how you'd apply individual team objectives to a sponsor/garage setting though
>>147839938

>robocuck is getting a chain gun added next week and a new EMP module
>How does it work?
>The EMP module summons a targeting locator, which, after a few seconds delay triggers a massive pulse of electromagnetic energy that stuns all enemies (both aerial and ground based) within a localised blast radius.
>When a player activates an EMP module, a blast radius SFX will be displayed (red for enemy
placement, blue for friendly), marking out the danger zone. Players will then only have a few seconds to escape this zone before the EMP initialises.
>The magnetic pulse will disable all user controls; teslas will fail, weapons won’t fire, modules won’t activate, planes immediately spiral out of control and rotors, hovers and drones fall. In addition to this, all affected robots will have their power and power regen levels set to zero for the duration of the pulse module being active.
>The new module can only be described as the ultimate in evasive maneuvers and could turn the tide of battle in your team’s favour in an instant!

The one thing I struggled with is that the wireframe of the item you are placing is a little hard to see at times, it can be difficult to strike a balance between being able to see the object itself, and the parts around it.
It would be nice if the part pulsated like you see in many other building games, it would make it easier to understand its position in 3d space, especially since the attachment points of your item aren't usually centered on your cursor.

You mentioned something about dx12 related to crashes earlier? How?
>>147887347
Every card, all the way back to the GT630 and possibly further has, at the very least, partial Dx12 support.
The problem with partial support is that Unity doesn't give two flying fucks what you have, you either do or don't have support. So while we have big fancy 390x's and 980's, most people don't, and that's what was causing issues in a lot of cases. The bluescreens and crashes were related to driver API shit. For now we've turned off support for Dx12.

>The other day, I was chatting with Gilles Vidal, Peugeot’s design boss. He said right now we’re arriving at what he calls the “end of aesthetics” in cars. He wasn’t about to talk himself out of a job by saying designers are redundant. Instead he says car design will be about “the entire experience”, not just the physical shapes of the exterior and interior. What matters will be the interfaces, the HMI, the way apps and comms are executed. The way we interact with cars in an era of sharing. Design will be in effect a collaboration between drivers and the company’s designers, because we’ll be able to configure so much for ourselves – how the car drives, how we control it and even (thanks to one-off 3d printing) its actual physical shapes and textures.

It's very kind of you to say "partially open source". From where I stand it takes a lot of nerve to call this even remotely close to open source initatives. Well, I'm hoping that this jogs some ideas and we can start cobbling together something like Skyrim's unofficial patchset. I've tried making PRs in the past but KSH doesn't seem very receptive.
I have a patching system for hacking Unity games, but it requires a bunch of development tools and I'm not tooKeenon giving that away, just yet.

As for your unofficial patch project, where'd we have to start ?
I'm sure fellow /egg/spergers could join forces to that extent.
>>147906932
Unity uses Mono (FOSS .NET) behind the scenes. Even their JS language is compiled into CIL.
As for getting started, I'd suggest starting by making a list of bugs that need to be addressed in a central location. Then, we can move on to the next step.
>>147776039
>left cockpit window
Didn't know you could just open windows in space dude.

It will be easier to do an entire game from scratch than saving that shit, it reminds me of netkar pro.
Its a racing sim wich had the best physics by its time, but it was a big ball of bugs, ferrari needed like 2 years to make a choped version wich became the "ferrari virtual academy"
and its almost the same sim, but with 3 cars and 4 tracks.
>>147907395
Maybe, but unofficial patchsets can at least make things somewhat tolerable and generate interest for a more in-depth refactoring.
>>147907387
you can, this is the result.
>>147907472
If anyone think of fixing spungos, they will need to set where is the focal point, or the end goal.
Making mechas for example, they will need to rewrite how grids work together to avoid stuff spinning by its own forces, how rotors and pistons operate, and then work on the bugs they may appear.
>>147907640
I would say that the primary focus should be on stability, at least to start off with, since it would likely be me and whoever else from this thread wanted to work on it. I suspect we'll be able to just keep up with crash fixes and bug/QoL fixes at the beginning.
Physics is currently implemented with Havok and all the fun stuff is in a native C++ library, so we're stuck with it at the moment. A nice alternative would be Bullet, but switching physics engines would break compatibility and would take years. I'm also not good with the maths, so you wouldn't get much help from me in that area.
>>147907914
So if you cant even modify the physics why bother?
>>147908007
The physics engine is something that can be worked around, once you find someone who knows what they're doing. A lot of the shittiness can be resolved by tweaking values. I remember that in GMod, which used Havok, you could work around parts sinking into each other by increasing the mass of the parent object, or by actually parenting things instead of using welds.
>>147908007
He said for stability first. Either we set a reachable goal either we just shut the fuck up and let the chaos as it is.
>>147908210
You cant stop steam updates unless you block steam completely and schedule updates when you know the computer is going to be offline.
They can "fix" something wich breaks 10 more stuff, including what we could do.
Look what happened to mods, and scripts.
Now most of the stuff dosent work.
You will end up like me, finding a pirate version to have something broken, but something you know, instead of new shit every week, or month.
>>147907085

how did you learn this in the first place ?
you do realize we're not all info tech-savvys or real life engineers (at least not me)
how can we possibly fix spengies without the "behind the scene" knowledge that you have ?
>>147908357
I have always tinkered with shit. I got my start in vidya by decompiling KSP and adding in a plugin framework without any of the source code. You can tinker with programs, just like you can tinker with a car, TV, or computer. You just need the right tools and the willpower to go look up the documentation on all the back-end shit buried on some godforsaken website. You also need tools like ILSpy, ildasm, and friends, and programming experience to automate the whole mess.
You also need to be slightly crazy, unemployed, and desperate.
>>147908357
Look what a simple bunch of modders did by themselves.
They fixed lots of the main issues in the game.
Wanna count how many of those fixes are "comunity contributions"?
>>147908586
You're telling me you have no diploma on the wall ?
Ok anyways, you can count me in, if you can point me to the right documentation and the right tools. I'm all willing to do and learn, but knowing that the far-end of my tinker abilities resume to shitting around with config files atm.
>>147908589
Yes please. How many ?
>>147909032
The most importan one was the random spawns of cargo ships, they spawned inside planets and crash into them if they spawned outside of them, it was there since planets were released, they never gave a fuck, they just disabled the option, untill some random "demon6666hacker" user fixed it.
The rest are small patches about random stuff.
Go and see it for yourself in the update logs, they detail what they did and what not.

Diplomas in tech are mostly a screening mechanism. They get you through the door, but experience is what ensures you're not cleaning toilets, especially since college tech shit is enormously outdated by the time you're wearing your gown. Fiber was still new when I was at college. Now every IT job wants you to know what the fuck a burnishing tool is and how to use it.

To establish that an advertisement is false, a plaintiff must prove five things:
(1) a false statement of fact has been made about the advertiser's own or another person's goods, services, or commercial activity;
(2) the statement either deceives or has the potential to deceive a substantial portion of its targeted audience;
(3) the deception is also likely to affect the purchasing decisions of its audience;
(4) the advertising involves goods or services in interstate commerce; and
(5) the deception has either resulted in or is likely to result in injury to the plaintiff.

Honestly, I am here mostly for Factorio, I don't play most of these games, and the ones I did play, I don't have much will to play anymore (i.e. Robocuck). My pc is also very weak for some stuff.
>>147920391
It worked. I can play in an empty world.
>>147920783
Now try the spess without planets, so at least you will have asteroids to mine stuff and do something.
Check the density in the menu before creating the world, and increase it untill the point it stops working.
>>147920305
no bottlenecks, and that build is better than mine (amd fx6300 and r7 250), and im able to run planets with 10-15fps...download RTSS and benchmark, or go into task manager and see how much ram is being used before you start the game.
I need help in factorio. I need to make a inserter activate 5 times in a row once a item passes somewhere else. How would I achieve this? I could make a clock but I don't know how to make it active only after receiving a pulse.
>>147920895
Yeah, I can play with asteroids. Oh well... no planets for me then.
>>147920931

If not, well... at least you have something.
If you have the money, try empyrion, i asume it consumes less resources, you can refund if you cant play it, remember the 2 hours gap, you will have to be fast.

200mb of use.
Choping services and shit is useless for that amount of ram, you will cut it to 130mb if you disable almost everything, there is no use.
still, the ram is the cheapest shit to buy.
Check if you have more slots in your motherboard, if not, you will have to buy 2 8GB sticks and then you will be safe enough, they arent that expensive.

Planes get shit stomped into oblivion 9 times out of 10.
They have to deal with being out in the open where everyone can see them and shoot at them, as well as dealing with Flak and Missiles, which are 100% hard counters to flyers. And then theres SMGs and Rails, which also tear them new assholes. Basically everything in the game is strong against flyers.
And then to top it off wings/rudders have pathetically low health, and they get shot off right away, making you plummet to the ground.
Helicopters have a bit easier since they can hover in place and drop behind cover.
And then drones have it pretty easy since they can just wildy flip all over the place in the air at top speed making them incredibly hard to hit with anything, and freejams fucked up block building system allows them to soak up way more damage than they should be able to if they were built normally.

>>148009972
>I assume I need a bunch of logistic robots
gross underestimation
>a suit of power armor, and a personal roboport?
That's not necessary. Useful, but not necessary.
You want to build several roboports around places you plan to connect by logibots
Each roboport has two ranges, yellow and green
green is for building, yellow for transport.
You want yellow ones to connect, either by bordering, or overlapping, to form a logistic network.
When they are connected, they have striped line between each direct link
Storage chest take all what they can
Requester chests demand things to keep designed stock at all times
Passive provider allows to have things taken from it
Active provider demands to have things taken from it
Since robutts need recharging, whenever you have swarms of them, yo need multiple roboports next to each other, or some mods that give charging stations
That's pretty much all what you need to know about logibots
>>148009754
>or do I have to figure all this shit out myself?
Are you kidding? Figuring everything out is the main fun part of Factorio, you should treasure your first playthrough where you're still learning and problem solving because it will only happen once. After that you'll always know exactly what to do and end up building huge boring bus factories.

>>148013832
Got it thanks. Any example about Rain Chain Signals would be great. I still don't understand their purpose.
>>148045874
They connect several rail sections so they all have same state.
So if there is complicated intersection that has one exit blocked, train travelling to that exit won't enter and block the intersection, because chain signals on his way all copy the state of blocked normal signal
>>148045874
Chain Signals work almost the same way as the normal Rail Signals. While normal signals only prevent trains from entering the occupied block made from the signal, Chain Signals will prevent a train from entering when the exit is also not free. The Chain Signals also take into account whether or not there is more than one exit, and if one of the exits that is relevant to where the train is going is free then the Chain Signal will let it go that way instead. Here is an example of when they would be really useful.http://guide.factorio.com/10-trains.html
>>148045874
Chain signals are basically there to prevent lockups in intersections, by insuring that the exit is free before a train enters. So you use chain signals at the entrance and within intersections, and normal signals at the exit of the intersection (and in intervals on normal stretches of track).

What's the best scenario for Space Engineers? Me and my friends either start too far from each other, or get shitty asteroid world with no planets.

it's your best bet comrade. Buying a video card that's already on life support like the 950-970 will just lead to dissapointment
You're getting along now without it you can go on a bit more, just save up. christmas/birthday/gift giving holidays etc. Scooze it in.

[s]What is CLANG?[/s] I don't see it

Oh, you sweet summer child

CLANG is everywhere, everyhow, everywhen.
Spengies is his domain.
Multiplayer spengies especially so, it is the land in which He has created his kingdom.
