I was going to make a Necromunda themed Vault. Hive city built over caverns. Wealthy live up top, where everything works, underclass below in shitty factories, slums and caverns. Kind of like the Pitt, but with an elevator down to the Steelyard.

1. Because tying the claws is what you do with regular fucking crustaceans so they can't hurt/break/sever your fingers when you work with them. I mean you also do it so they don't fight the other animals kept in the tank with them, but that's not really a problem with a man sized crab.
2. Fallout Radiation does not work like regular radiation. Moreover boiling is a far more direct and energetic process than the background rads in the Fallout world's oceans. Furthermore if you can cook little bits of the mirelurk, you can boil the whole thing give a big enough vessel, which is what they've got.
