Medic is the best perk for getting away with being DEVILISH

We will have to see.
There are many trivial things that Medic may lose.
Auto-regen, armour repairs, extra health, the loss of these things would be disappointing, but ultimately inconsequential on their own.

The only thing I'm watching closely is move speed.
As long as I have rapid regen and move speed I can get away with anything as a Medic.
Of course, if they gut that like they did with Berserker then I will have problems.

Actually, they probably will gut that move speed.
Just to stop that horrible thing happening when the Medic is the last man left but he saves the team.

Reminds me of a dream I had last night.
I was going to the cinema with someone I knew, and we got in an elevator.
As soon as the doors closed and it started ascending, the elevator started getting bashed in from all sides by zeds. I somehow had a SCAR in my hands and just went full auto in a panic. There were Sirens popping up all around and all I could think was that there was just too many of them.

Then I noticed a couple of bricks of C4 on the elevator floor, before I knew it my SCAR was gone and there was a detonator in my hands and I could hear a voice yelling "WE'RE CLOSED IN, BLOW IT, BLOW IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT".

I slammed that detonator and blew the entire floor out from under me.
Everything was blown to bits, except the side of the elevator wall closest to me which I somehow clung to the top of as everything else was blasted away revealing an endless blackness all around me.
I climbed on top of the elevator wall that remained and just stared out into the dark.

Then as I looked up I suddenly found myself away from the elevator, and standing up back inside the mall where a woman I didn't know said "Well let's get going then".

I woke up frightened. I don't know what the fuck that was.

Skills are kinda shit anyway. You should always look forward to getting your next skill. Why does Berserker have the exact same talent TWICE in his tree?
Why do you gain 1sec /5 lvl and 2% /5 lvl instead of gaining 0.2sec each level and 1% each level? That way you would increase in power with each level instead of every five. With each level you'd think "nice I got a bit stronger" this way for level 1-4 / 6-9 / 11-14 and so on you think "welp, got fucking nothing for leveling up. thanks tripwire"

It's like TW made a generic perk template and just give each perk 1 unique skill/passive.
All of the generic stuff that has been used in at least 2 perks or more, we have.

PvP for KF2, in and of itself, wasn't necessarily a bad idea.
However, the current state of PvP, as well as general feeling toward it, can be traced back to the release.

Firstly, PvP was never something that was genuinely wanted.
Now let me be clear, there was always that one guy, back in the KF1 days, who would say "Man imagine if we had a Versus thing like L4D?".
However that's all it was, dreamy hope, nothing more. There was no sincere drive for it.
Hell, even TW had said that they had once begun very early designs on a KF1 PvP mode, but had scrapped it in the initial stages because, ironically, it just wasn't fun to play in KF1.

So imagine our surprise when suddenly KF2's Devs announced that a PvP mode was on the way and when Yoshiro declared that it was something we had all wanted and asked about for a long time, and that TW were, graciously, finally delivering it.

Now hear this. I've been hanging around the Steam forums since EA began, and there was no demand for PvP. Because there was demand for far more important things.
Hell, even a public vote on the TWI Forums (You know? Their Hugbox Capital?) found that KF2 had no need for PvP at the time.

On that note, the news came at a bad time.
Yoshiro had only a little while earlier announced to us that SS, a beloved perk from KF1, had been delayed for a second time.
We understood that. There wasn't enough time.

But then Yoshiro turned around the next week and said OH BUT WE DID HAVE TIME TO MAKE A WHOLE NEW GAME MODE!
Players were told that features that they had expected from Day One would be delayed again (as it turned out, delayed by six months), but features that no one had asked for or demanded when EA began had been spun out of thin air and handed to us as if we should be grateful.

Of course it didn't help that PvP's debut was buggy and imbalanced.
The knowledge that TW had spent three months working on it only soured its reception even further.

People have a giant ass laundry list of stuff that's not fun in PvE and I don't think any player is happy with the skills and boosts for the different perks (why not just call em classes at this point?) It feels like its shooting peas in KF2 though. To be honest most of the weapons feel pretty lacklustre in KF2. Nothing seems to have as much power as it did in the first. Could be the sounds aren't as good.

Running low on ammo wouldn't be an issue if there were ammo boxes lying around and spawning more often.
When they increased total ammo capacity it didn't fix anything, you just ran out of ammo later and still had to search for boxes.
I remember at the start of EA ammo box spawns were perfectly fine but TW nerfed the spawn rate because no one was buying tier 2&3 weapons, it made no sense then and it still doesn't.
Most of the tier 2&3 weapons are so shit and the re-sell value being 2/3rds of what you paid for means you lose out on the extra money for no reason and if there's still ammo in the weapon you don't get extra for it.

When I was having to kite Hans as you do, I was on the lookout for ammo boxes, the first thing I found was a caulk and the second was the SG500. What good were those weaksauce weapons going to do against a fucking boss? If they upped the ammo box spawn again it would be great, if they wanted to make things a bit more interesting and have a reason to have support on the teams, they could work around it and supplier.

I only had enough to buy a crossbow as a spare the other day (boss wave), and the firing delay pretty much made it unusable short of precognition. It's pretty terrible that, at medium range, you have to lead the target pretty much by its entire body's worth to -maybe- hit your mark, depending on further deviations due to latency issues.

Wouldn't work. The game works because it's a constant increase until climax.

My snowflake idea for the closest thing to that would be a 15 or maybe 20 wave game. Trash count would increase slowly, but big zeds would increase quickly.

Eventually, the game would throw 4 fp's at you at a time, probably up to 50 scrakes per round, something like 20 fp's.

In order to deal with that, the only issue would be ammo.
To counter this I would suggest an ammo crate you can buy and fill at the trader.
You'de have 2 or 3 size at different prices. It would considerably slow the guy carrying it down unless he'd play support.

Balance all this shit correctly and you're looking at possiby 120-150 minutes games not including the boss.

I know a few people that would probably don't mind playing it.

They also could just add that every, say, 400 zeds killed a trader pod will open and you can refill your entire ammo pool with it for about 60 seconds before it closes and you need to kill 400 again.

What can tripwire do to get people actually playing. Everyone said "when they add sharpshooter I'll start playing again" at least all my friends said that. But only one person on my friends list has come back to play. I think tripwire is trying to make kf into more than what it ever could be. Between the cosmetics that nobody ever notices, or the PVP mode that nobody plays, to the mindblowingly bad decisions to "balance" the game they lost their way. There are just too many design decisions at conflict with each other.

we don't want camping so we're going to make welding pointless, but we're not going to put ammo crates on the map so there's no reason to explore.

We want more fast paced gameplay so we'll make the zeds faster but make all the projectiles slower.

You know what fuck making a list of all their pants on head retarded decisions. Why do they refuse to let me have fun? The only people that complained about solo carries and slow gameplay from kf1 were shitters that spent the whole game dead.

Butt to be honest what pisses me off are the beyond shitty skills and passives for the Perks. Just look at commando:
LvL 5:

>Large Mags: 50% more magazine capacity
Those are not skills you look forward to while playing/leveling. Large mags you'd only happy to get because you think "Fucking ammo in this game, always running out" It's good because balance is shitty.
LvL 10:
>Backup: 60% more pistol and knife damage + some switch speed
>Impact: 150% stumble power for commando weapons
Again. nothing really to look forward too. Impact is maybe one of the few skills that sound a bit more interesting than the more generic skills. But not much.
LvL 15:
>Health Increase: 25% more health and armor (the most generic fucking "Talent" you can make in a game"
>Ammo Vest: 2 extra magazines for each commando weapon.
Again a talent that only seems good because the game thinks constantly running out of ammo in a wave based game is fun.
LvL 20:

here we get the first "big" damage increase and... THE SAME FUCKING TALENT AS "LARGE MAGS" ON LEVEL 5. Seriously, WHO THE FUCK designs a talent tree and thinks "for the penultimate talent choice, let's just repeat one of the very first talents. kek" This is the "high" level range. this should have amazing shit not rehashes from 15 levels earlier.
LvL 25:

One is kinda interesting, the other is again just a flat damage increase, if maybe a minor one, considering it's only active during ZT

Add on top of that what has already been said: Why do you gain minor increases every 5 levels? Why even have the other levels in between them if you create a "power gap" that only advanced every 5 levels? divide the bonus by 5 and give us something each level so we can enjoy an increase each level. This way I wouldn't think "welp, another level I get fucking nothing for" on 80% of the level ups.

And here's some more interesting possible Skills:

Point being: you can come up with better shit.

If you're a commando/support/medic/zerker you've been using the same exact on perk weapons for an entire year, every single match you buy the same exact weapons every time because you have no other options

We have some decent map variety now but it would be nice if we had more open maps instead of having so many cramped maps. Yes open maps feel easy but the game needs some variety.

I think KF2 is almost missing maps with a good sense of verticality as well

Borderlands has it's own problems. Classes don't synergize sadly. They don't have talents that really compliment or buff each other.

But you're right. A Talent choice shouldn't be a lame increase. It should change the way a game plays out in a small or big way. Or do silly shit. Like "no ammo consumed during zed time" that would be amazing. or interesting stuff like "killing zeds that are close to friendlies will heal the friendlies for a small amount" probably not for the commando, but a good Idea in general.
