Torb is amazing, I instalock him in a few scenarios.
Put the turret in a place that covers a lot but can't be seen from the choke, and defend the choke with your amazing gun. If they force you back, your turret will confuse them and you can break the push. If they try to flank, turret will fuck them up and let you know they're there. If you die, just Molten core. If your team dies and you have defend alone, just molten core. And don't forget to pick up scrap so you can give a +75 buff to your entire team AND heal yourself in a pinch.
The other day I actually got the meme POTG of walking back from spawn while my turret molten core's people to death, shit is hilarious.

I got a PotG on Numbani first, defense as Torb a couple days ago.
My entire team was pushed up, got wiped, and I was alone with my turret in the cubby with the 2 doors side by side.
I walked out, got some scrap that was laying around for a whopping 150, then proceeded to Molten Core and shoot a few to death. I was low health, still on molten core, so all I did was just look down and spam armor at my feet to survive long enough for my turret to wipe the team.

You can't nerf everything at once. This game relies too much on soft and hard counters. Buffing a soft counter while nerfing an offender might accidentally completely void said offender from the game.
Instead you need to directly identify current issues:

Flankers such as Tracer/Genji and sometimes also Pharah/Reaper can get past barriers. The problem is that Zenyatta can't support them when they do and you are basically waiting for the fight to be won before you can get out any discord orbs.

Absolutely, I feel pretty dirty when playing Junk because unless someone gets a decent jump and chunk on me, they will get blown up as soon as the first grenade connects and the C4 follows split second after. There is no way to counter it really.
Most offense classes though eat junk alive pretty easy unless you really manage to get the first grenade to connect before they get major damage out.
I wouldn't mind C4 getting a damage nerf / changed just to concussive grenade or something as the thing hurts, and it's insanely good to finish pesky tracers or genjis, even drop Pharahs from air every now and then

No, you're just lucky with teams. 40-60 is a black hole of competitive, playerbase there is the same as in QP, so your win/loss in solo or stack of 2-3 depends on how lucky uou are with team, not your personal performance.
