What are good Hunting Styles for LBG?
I tried out Bushido, and i think what it does is, if you get a perfect evade you reload and it empowers your shots for either a certain time or until you reload, not quite sure.
But i rarely found myself actually evading the monsters, though it could be really useful against stuff like Diablos that charge a lot

You should be able to just mass buy most ammo for LBG and HBG, I think only Crag/Clust 3 is unavailable.
As for needleberries alone those might be in the shop as well, but might only be under the extra course which adds on a lot of nice convenience items to buy, like honey. But specific gather spots for them are beyond me since it's been so long.
I'm unsure how far along the Korean version is, but if you have the Partnyas or the cat helpers, you can shove another stack of ammo on them since they don't count as having the same inventory as you do.

you can do a "power sprint" after the bushido dodge by pressing X. If you press X right after the dodge, you don't do the power-reload, you can X after the reload to go into sprint.
Aerial is fun, although gimmicky.

Vertical gameplay was introduced on land in 4U, mainly with the Insect Glaive. You jump on the monster, and when you've dealt enough jump damage, you mount it. After a small button mashing, monster is down and you get free hits for a few seconds.
In MHX, it's easier to mount for all weapons weapon aerial style. One hunter art.
Guild style is your usual gameplay. Two hunter arts. Hunter arts are big attacks/buffs/something similar.
Striker you lose something from guild, but you get three hunter arts.
Adept, you lose something from guild, but you get retardedly easy evades that completely negate the coming attack, and allow you to strike back in some way. One hunter art.
Of course, underwater has been removed.

It's pretty nice. Jumping from ledges/pole vaulting to attack monsters is a lot of fun and the mounting system lets you give them payback for when they get you trapped on the floor and stuff.

In 4U a ton of areas have uneven terrain which for some was a pain in the dick.
Adept is solid for many weapons, but it's worse than Guild/Striker against something like Zinogre.

Anyone else with a N3DS feeling like the C-Stick is way less responsive in some directions than others. Like it's way easier for me to turn the camera to the left than it is to turn it to the right.

For regular play, any weapon does fine provided the style used isn't terrible for them or a bad matchup against the monster. In time attack CB and IG usually get mid-tier results on monsters, but remember that such results are practically solo hunts played very well with endgame shit.
That said, the worst lot for solo usage though would definitely be both GL and HH. Though they got some new mechanics, they didn't really earn much for damage output, but don't let that stop you from using either of them if you want to use them. HH especially at least is still great for multiplayer and playing music with double notes making life a tad easier.

Compared to 3U? No underwater combat, but Royal Ludroth and Lagiacrus return as land fights but nobody's really happy with the latter's fights. A good deal of 1st and 2nd gen monsters return along with a good amount of 4th ones, so there's that too.

So yeah, there's some considerable overlap with 4U. The only non-elder dragon monster from there you're really missing out on is Nerscylla and all the G-Rank subspecies.

I can only go to /v/ when it's for a game without a general. If this place or another general sucks, I'll just take a break instead. Haven't used /v/ in months, since the last game I went there for got a general (then I stopped playing it anyway, so that general stopped mattering)
Problem is that /mhg/ is quiet, almost always. Exceptions are new game releases, when everyone and their mother's sister's dog pirated X and 4U's demo

In terms of playstyle. Instead of needing to do a spirit combo to top up red constantly to top up a 20% damage boost that was weaker than FU, you had a two minute free period where the moveset was unrestrained by needing to top Red up, and you were actually stronger than in FU.
I will admit that it needed some improvement, but I still think that it was better in terms of how it dictated how you hunt with the longsword. I think the spirit chain from fade slash was a good way to mitigate the "nerf" as it opened up a LOT of attack opportunities and made it easier to raise your aura than it has eve been before, short of [Monster Hunter "Infinite Spirit Spam" Tri]
Also, LS still had decent times in 4U. Not the best, maybe marginally worse than before, but still decent in the hands of those who knew how to use it. They could have improved the moveset further or otherwise tweaked the multiplier bonuses of White and Yellow to further mitigate the ""nerf"" that the new aura system represented.

Super Nova doesn't seem all that useful conversely and I'd rather power up my regular shots. I dunno I just want to make a pure 'limiter off' kind of playstyle and I don't want to switch to LBG. Just hunted a Narga with a prowler that actually did shit. He kept on his track, stacked some nice KO damage, used the Health Horn and the special attack more than I would hope a random be able to and didn't cart once.
That said, the hunt ended at the 5 minute warning, the longest I've experienced in MP yet, which I think is a testament of how shit melee prowler is, even at the hand of good players.
