Different settings.
ML is primarily a Theater. Most of their cards and workload depicts them in Plays / Movies / Whatever. Hence their cards tend to be more dynamic and action based. They're mundane girls acting out in not so mundane things.
CG is a more standard idol agency, but their roster is a rainbow colored clusterfuck of oh god what the fuck are these girls. Nonetheless, most of their jobs tend to be normal idol stuff.

The way they did this revisit was great, first revealing the villains in the event preview, then revealing the betrayal when the event started, and then revealing the heroes in the new gacha. I didn't expect the gacha to be a continuation of the event at all, this really surprised me.
