If you want to scan stuff for your exploration rating it'll always be time intensive, but having higher jump range will help you get to neutron star fields a little quicker. Maybe 4D life support too since you won't make it back to a starport in 25 minutes if your canopy cracks anyway.

When I got to Sothis in Asp and once I ranked up with factions I saw a whole lot more long range missions than smuggling so those seem like the exception but I don't mode switch. With a decent jump range it's perhaps faster than waiting for smuggling missions.

So I went to that Shu babasi system and it didn't fucking have dozens of missions to stack but whatever. I got myself 6 delivery missions 11ly away with planetary station as destination, When I arrive to the system I don't have the planet on my man and no scanner. wtf is this shit I literally uninstalled the game how can you now have a planet that you're supposed to go to discovered or mapped or something ?

It would need a lot more than just that. Like an actual economy, or about 20 other mission types that have come standard in video games for decades. There is discussion of shit that should have been included with ED's base game all the time. That's pretty much the only meaningful thing about the game any longer.
