Also in 3 the sheer amount of community lots like 3 or was it 4 bars and in every night only 1 of them is populated because it's the "hotspot" that night so best thing would just be to delete everything but one and then there's the rabbit holes...
I'm not saying the holes are a bad thing for shits like careers etc but fuck it shouldnt have been a problem to make SMALLER versions of all existing holes so you could actually build small village or such shit without going the rabbit hole rug or holes in the basement route for them.

Stick to 4, wait for more expansions and hope for the best.
There are no graphic enhance mods for 3. Although its game play surpasses 4, if you can't stand outdated graphics there's nothing you can do. It comes down to personal preference with visuals in games.
Performance issues on the other hand a few mods can help improving its stability. Its always going to run like shit, there's no going around it. I've played it so long i've gotten used to it.

I'm about to dive back into Sims 2. Just one thing, is there any way to fix the performance problems? I'm traveling, so I have to play it on my half-decent laptops, but the game stuttered and was slow the last time I tried to play it. I remember it running like shit on my Athlon II X2 250 and 2GB RAM. Not just performance, but it also crashed once I traveled because Sims 2 has some memory leaks on travel.

It's good in general, but severely overvalued. 99% of the time you're computer is only using 1 core, even if you have a 16 core CPU. This is why speed is so much more important than core count. But people see a CPU has more cores and they think "Oh, 4 cores means 4 times faster!" ... no, it's like 20% faster when you have 5 programs processing information at once. Add another .5ghz to a 1 core CPU and it'd be the same thing for most tasks (including games) that occur at home.

You know, if you think it about it, you could predict that EA would want their own folder instead of putting their stuff in the standard "My Games" folder that's been in place for a decade. It just seems so like them. There is like 10 reasons this bothers me and makes me want to smack EA. Mostly it's them saying they don't care about their power users that like to keep their system organized and running clean, and then saying their shit games are too good to be classified with peasant games in the standard meeting spot.

That's a bit of an overstatement, you've got a lot of processes running at all times and I've never seen only one core getting utilized. Power saving parks some cores in Windows since there's no need to use all of them, but still.
I'm not saying I'm seeing a 100% increase per core, you've brought up a valid point, but if an application was made to use two threads, it will have two threads even if you only have one core. The only difference being that they won't actually execute in parallel so I can't see why would someone see an increase in performance related to Sims 2 bit when from my understanding it can only be worse. Do correct me if I'm wrong

I'd like little theme parks, too. Not necessarily coaster tycoon level of involvement, but some lazy rivers, tidal pools, a few prebuilt rides, theatre type shows your sims can participate in, food and souvenir stands, etc
More outdoor sports, biking, bowling, gymnastics. Then put in a sim olympics and if they train hard enough and win they'll get medals and large sums of simoleons.
More build tools, and better swatch matching.

I use a lot of pirated stuff, don't get me wrong. But there is a lot of perks. For one, you can play the way it was intended without restricting online content. Two, secure in knowing that if something is broken, it's not just a shit patch job - all your content is 100% verified compatible with all the other content you have. Except custom content, but again, you don't have to go digging for old versions to match your outdated crackjob. Three, updates and patches and keeping everything running smooth. Four, not having to wait months for cracks. Five, knowing your game is working "as intended" and if there is any sort of game corruption or mischief, something has gone terribly wrong and it's not just a bad torrent. Stemming from five is the simple security of knowing you are minimizing your chances of crashes and corrupting 100+hour save games. Plus tech support, but they just treat you like you're retarded and ask you if you plugged in the computer and stuff, so they're pretty useless.
That said, the Sims franchise is really, really one that you should pirate. If you pirate anything, make it the sims. There is no fucking way this piece of shit amateur-coded 15-year-old-dated-graphics unoptimized bug-ridden money-grab piece of shit is worth $300.

I think EA does a great job with the games themselves. I wouldn't change what they make, so much as how they make it.
1.) Much lower prices or much more hashed out expansions - no stuff packs, merge them with expansions. 30+ overpriced DLC is retarded.
2.) Optimize, optimize, optimize! Make the game run like it SHOULD run without gutting all the flavor and soul.
3.) Include hi-def graphics at an Ultra-Quality graphics setting instead of just saying "Oh, no one wants that, so we'll call Ultra-Quality our same old cartoon 2000-era graphics with better shading"
... that's it. Just keep doing what they're doing, only stop half-assing it.

My ideal sims game would be something that instead of having life stages in CAS has a full-on AGE SLIDER that starts at baby and ends at elder. Yeah i've fiddled with those mods but the only way i could to completely stop other cars especially taxis from spawning was to disallow use of cars completely which also meant that your sim atleast automatically doesnt use car even if you give her/himimplying anyone plays 3 with shitty Ken-dollsthough i think you can still drive your car if you click it and from there use the "go to community lot" option.

If there are ISO files, then mounting virtual image files means you need a program that can mount that virtual image file. It behaves as if you've put in a CD/DVD after that.

Yeah, they used to be the shit. I have a version saved (not used) - "DAEMONToolsPro520-0348" (decipher that yourself) that I fished from a torrent that works and isn't loaded with adware, but honestly, I like PowerISO better. Daemon Tools strong point was how damn easy it was to use. You could do everything from the tray icon. The new version all have a full program you have to open just to unmount a damn image. I stopped using them.

I like WinCDEmu because it's simple, integrates into shell so you can just right click on your file from explorer and mount it that way. And it's free, didn't even have to pirate it.

My favorite was the Fallout mod that added what was basically a completely hashed out children's brothel, complete with voiced characters (kiddie voices), sexy kids lingerie and BDSM stuff, torture/roleplay dungeons, and sex animations. Once the fun was done, you could have your kiddie sex slave follow you around as your companion - on all 4s. They fought like the junk yard dogs. Except yelps and screams instead of barking. I remember I made a sim in CAS who got married to Leighton Sekemoto, iirc. They had a cute daughter who I made get perfect grades and had high skills in logic who was going to be a doctor. My sims were well off, everything was good, etc.,etc.
Except one day I wasn't paying attention and the daughter checked for a monster under her bed, which made her unable to sleep. For some reason she wouldn't nap on the couch, so she passed out from exhaustion. I soon found that she just wouldn't respond to any commands at all.
She wouldn't go to school, so her grades dropped to an F pretty quickly, and she wouldn't eat so she would just be constantly hungry. But she never appeared hungry, or wet herself, or appeared bored to my knowledge. Her stats were right down but you couldn't see it from the way she acted. She just stood there. When it came to her birthday she didn't even age. Resetsim did nothing but teleport her.
So I was like 'fuck this, I'm out of here' and switched my active household. I played a new sim for a while, but got curious as to what happened to my old family. So I went round to visit.
Only Leighton was there. The CAS sim and the daughter were nowhere to be found. I switched my active household back, and they weren't controllable, only he was. But they weren't dead either, and the daughter still looked like a child on the family tree even though she should have been an adult by then. It was almost like the monster under the bed had actually cursed them or something.
My Sims 3 save is taking ages to load/maybe not loading at all. I've tried the backup but it's doing the same. Do I just wait it out and see if it loads or is it fucked?

I'm conflicted for similar reasons. After watching the review, I like some of the systems TS4 has in place, and I like the graphical style as well. TS3 looks rough and I've heard the performance is pretty bad regardless of what kind of machine you're playing on.

How the fuck do I deal with error code 12 in sims 3?
It's seriously happening every 30 minutes I play and I keep needing to manually decrease the amount of minutes required to autosave more and more.
I've read its a memory issue but i've put 12gb into vram storage and playing it on lower settings and nothing seems to stop the error from coming apart from recommendations to move my sims to another town or someshit.

I got it for just shy of $1100 around February. No other gaming laptop in that price range had that huge of an SSD as well as a 1tb normal HD to back it up.

If I remember right, I had to trim my neighborhood. I Error 12'd whenever my saves started to take a long time. It's almost like the Error 12 was on a timer, and it would go off if the save took too long. Try cleaning your neighborhood. Get rid of unnecessary sims, pimped out lots, etc. Every Sims and their life history/memories/inventory take up a ton of memory. As do really, really well-done houses with lots of detailing. Gotta get rid of some.
The older your neighborhood gets, the older your sims get, and the more memories and such get built up. This problem was actually fixed in Sims 4, but most people don't notice that.

If not, 4 might be a good place to jump in as the lack of content only really hurts a lot of us because of 3.
At the same time, 3 might be best to jump into just because it's going to give you a quadrillion hours worth of content, and by the time you're dead and bored of it there might be enough content in 4 to justify it.

In 4 I there is a seperate bar for friend and romance.
So you could have two sims that have romantic feelings for each other but hate each others guts at the same time.
I think they end up as "enemies with benefits" or something.
3 you can make some qt waifus. But art style and the way cas works will make it a little more challenging than TS4.
3 does have some perfomance issues. It honestly is a crap shoot.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled many times on the same hardware.
It was always usually laggy. But sometimes it would be worse than other times. Some installs crashed more than others.
The more expansions and stuff packs you install the worse your performance will be.
Sims 4 has a free 48 trial. If you want you can also pirate 3 to see how it perfoms.
All sims games are EZ PZ to mod.

About those performance issues... What about people with good computers? Even them? I don't want to sound like a total AND complete faggot, but I do have $1500 in this thing.

The performance issues are varying, but there is no computer ON THIS PLANET that can run the game without any of them. Its just poorly optimized in a lot of areas.
The best recommendation to help alleviate them I have:
- Play on medium/small worlds
- Get NRAAS mods: Errortrap, Overwatch, Master Controller, Register
- Get Awesome Worlds mod 3Booter
If you do give the game a try, try without all these mods first, see how it does, see if any problems bother you too much. because you can't fully fix the problems.

All basic EA made or generated sims have whats referred to as "Pudding face". They all look the same with weird ugly blobby faces.
Mods and more importantly in my opinion, slider scale multipliers (can get one in Master Controller), can make making waifus manageable.
The big benefit in that regards with 4 is that girls just tend look great most of the time without the need of mods or editing.They're also usually DELICIOUSLY THICC

Was just playing a sim who did this except it was with the Energy stat only. She never slept.
Also one time I had Jared Frio marry Morgana Wolff and I was playing them for a while and Morgana is in the doctor carreer and the game has you give out vaccines or something when you get to the higher levels of it so she went to the park and started giving them out but one townie bugged out and when she gave him the shot she bugged out and couldn't be controlled like that and the only fix was to move the entire family to a new town.
Neither are really spooky but those bugs seem to be common in TS3

With the Sims 3 World Adventures expansion you can learn kung fu and fight other sims for fun. Also good for fighting mummies.
In 4 there are punching bags for exercise.
I'd say go with 4. Personally, its disappointing to me right now but its mostly a content issue and its an issue that probably won't effect you, given you haven't played 2 or 3.
