I find it really useful, but for the climate resists. My 20 fort does next to nothing against snakes or any other tranq, but I can run around naked in freezing weather for like 10+ minutes without dying. If I have a supply of cooked meat with me I don't die period, and with actual fur gear I never have to care about the weather.

Spawn rates are fucked right now, they messed something up and it kills singleplayer performance when I go to test mods.
To get a rex make a raft with three walls like a U facing the front and get the rex on it before you knock it out, just pull the fucker to the safety of the islands just off the northeast of jungle north.

Not even my idea, I was cruising by half burnt island and saw a dino gate on a straight wall and asked my friends about it.
They took that U shaped raft and ram it into the gate to hold the rex inside while they tranq it, walls of the raft are only windows to leave holes to shoot it through.

So according the Ark forums, Mosasaurus spawns are broken in The Center map and they spawn only when server restarts and after that they won't respawn at all. Fucking RIP

Former Aqualad Yaoihandsman here. Glad to see you guys are up and running again. I doubt you even remember me as I didn't really talk much, but it still makes me happy to see you guys are having fun here again. I just recently started playing with some friends of mine on another server (before I saw the general was back) but things are going a bit sour here for us so we end up migrating to where you guys are in the near future. they're pretty fast and their jump is kinda cool, the only issue is that they're garbage for combat because landing a hit with their stinger is impossible, and once they're tamed the move too quick to hit anything by themselves.
Fuck it. Tame every level 100 plus ptera you find like i did. Create a flock of kibble tames and bred pteras. 2000 plus health. Getting attacked? Whistle aggressive and follow all and start barrel rolling the shit out of stuff. 40 plus pteras simultaneously attacking will both overwhelm attackers with numbers and maybe cause some lesser systems to crash, removing the attackers from the game. It is also enough to enrage a giga, at which point passive and fly away. Sure, you will lose some, but then you can kill the giga. Make them pay.
So which map do you guys prefer, the island or the center?
I prefer the island. The center is alright but there are too many cliff everywhere in the center jungles and not enough rolling hills.

I prefer the island since I like spending my time roaming around from place to place and not building permanent settlements, but the center has a whole lot going for it too.
There's shit loads of nice places for base building, easier access to resources like crystals and metal, and all the water gives you an actual reason to build boats and docks outside of ocean oil mining.

If you insist on playing solo, there is an offline mode. I'd suggest using that, as if you're going to play solo online you will be constantly harassed by larger tribes.
Ultimately playing solo is possible, but the game is best enjoyed with friends.

Building anything in this game is a fucking nightmare. The majority of pieces are sized/shaped in such odd ways and getting them to line up is a constant battle. Did you know that ceilings aren't even perfect squares? Who the fuck made multiple models that weren't even the same size as the rest of everything else and thought it was OK?

Here's my tribes base as of about 2 weeks ago. We play on a private unnoficial with some friends and even with boosted rates this took us probably 80 hours to complete. When we first started we completed the first level and started on the second floor (Which is wider) only to discover that we couldn't place a pillar where we needed for no discernable reason. Had to destroy everything we made and start over, shifting everything slightly to the right.

Like >>147133797 said, a Sarco is a good mount that isn't to horrible to tame. Decent hp and damage, and one of the fastest large water mounts. It doesn't use stamina while swimming fast either, which makes it great for getting around. The only thing bad about it is the garbage turn radius, the inability to hit anything in the air, and its dive is kind of slow. I actually personally find a Spino with O2 to be one of my favorite water mounts though.

You only tame a Titano if you want to wipe another tribe off a server, which you will. At the very least it can tank every sentry they have, because its immune to bullets. More likely, you'll destroy their whole base because it goes through metal, and makes the Brachio's AoE look puny in comparison.
