First snapshot for Minecraft 1.10, polar bears are here and no one cares!
Minecraft for Windows 10 beta released, coded in C++.
FyberOptic ported the modloader "Meddle" to 1.10 snapshots.
1.9 has been released, and it's buggy as all hell. Contains The End revamp, beets, YMMV new combat, witch sounds and other features. Check the wiki for more info.
An anon released a "diet" Natura fork: https://github.com/Rukachan/Nature
BetterWithMods 0.6.2 beta released: https://boards.fireden.net/vg/thread/138191219#138373675
Grimoire of Gaia revamped, changlog here: http://the-grimoire-of-gaia.wikia.com/wiki/Changelog
Some anon has been working on a Traincraft clone: https://github.com/xenoswift/puretrainport
Thaumcraft Golems retextured as Maids soon.
Any word on /int/craft coming back soon? The server says that "/int/craft: Yugoslav Wars" are next up
now that's a nice metallic look..

Any good servers on the list? I see 2b2t has a fucking queue now.

I can't decide what to do with the stone, whether I should leave it or change it, or what I should change it to.
>>146801626
You talking about the stone in the background? I kinda like it like it is, but if you do decide to change it, the chiseled version of Cobblestone where it's bricks with darker lines, the first cobble brick in the list I believe, would match the Thaumic stuff well
>>146801626
Replace it with glass or preferably clear glass, then dump a shitton of lava behind it.
Or if you have Chisel installed, you can just find an alt smooth stone block you like and change the existing stone. But srsly famalam, do the lava thing. You know you want to.
SHIT SON. FTB GOT WRECKED. THEY EVEN LOST TO ATLAUNCHER.
>>146801626
>>146802540
These bricks look so fucking good together. What I find works well is making a large solid shape of 1 kind of block then assigning one of the other kinds to the Chisel and making small tweaks here and there. Really helps things blend in, but still have enough variety to look interesting.
>>146801626
I like it. Looks nice.

>Created by... official Technic partner
>Technic at the top of everything

>No curse

I'm sensing a little bias.
>>146802995
Curse doesn't make modpacks.
>>146802661
I have to wonder where all the "-kit" suffixes came from. First one I remember is Bukkit, but that was an administrative plugin / server plugin a looong time ago. Now it seems like 90% of the modpacks have the "-kit" suffix.
>>146802661
what happened? i know /mcg/ doesn't like FTB for some reason, but I kind of enjoy it
I played Attack of the B-Team a while ago but FTB is so familiar to me because ofdirewolf20
>>146802661
Do people still play Voltz? Huh. Neat.
>>146803059
They do host them through their launcher though, and at very least Agrarian Skies 2 is exclusive.

>i know /mcg/ doesn't like FTB for some reason, but I kind of enjoy it

Paid mods, general jewery, licensing bullshit.
Best not to say anything about it, there's a retard who thinks that paid mods could somehow work even though skyrim conclusively proved they don't.
>>146803108
tekkit is bukkit based modpacks. all of their modpacks have kit on the end or something.
>>146803383

I literally don't know what you're talking about, I just play Infinity 1.7.10 and their Unstable packs for recent iterations of the game
please explain what's going on? I only use FTB ebcause I started watching DW20 and joined in on their client
>>146803316
Agrarian Skies 2

That's only better than Blightfall from Technic.
>>146795176
After last iteration's clusterfuck, I say fuck 'em until they get something that doesn't shit itself every 20 minutes.
What am I doing with my life.
I took some chances when doing the layout. I honestly wasn't sure if I would end up hating it.
But now I'm glad I did. I'm really digging how this looks from the ground. Can't wait to start running superfluous cables and wires everywhere!
>>146803509
Slowkike wants to commission modders or something, basically paid mods.
This, of course, would turn out disasterously, AS SKYRIM CONCLUSIVELY PROVED.
Also curse owns ftb basically or something. Not exactly sure, but some really fucking jewish shit has been going on.
>>146803551
Are we talking about the one where they RP'd ~400 AD? That was pretty stable iirc
>>146803924
>ftb can pay modders
>they still can't pay their own people
>those people don't quit
fucking cucks
>>146803531
It's kinda strange that despite how popular Blightfall became we haven't yet seen a single standalone mod that focuses on creating those Terraria-like hostile self-spreading biomes and fighting them off. That'd really help to expand on that style of play without glueing it to Thaumcraft
>>146803820
Whoops. Forgot to include the beanstalk.
You can see the prototype window sitting near the bottom there.
Building big shit is pretty satisfying.
>>146803569
So... what's the point of feeding hungry nodes again?
>>146804238
feed it huge and either taint it and energize it or load it into a room to charge your wand/scepter
Also science
>>146804126
The reason I didn't play Blightfall was because the map was set every time; no change from playthrough-to-playthrough. I think it would've been fun if it was a default MC world but with the Terraria-like biomes you mentioned occurring randomly.
>>146804147
Here's the inside. Still a lot more work to do here. Totally got distracted by the large windows. Not sure what I'm going to put in here to fill up space. Maybe a library. Or a trophy room for Twilight boss loot.

>>146804883
What the fuck are you talking about? You somehow managed to find the most cancer LP of one of the most popular modpacks right now. That little kid is just one of many fuckheads playing Blightfall.
The modpack itself focuses on cleaning up magical pollution. That's it.
>>146805232
Well then point me in the right direction, I watch Direwolf20 when I don't want to actually play, because besides Hynotizd, he's the poster child of FTB and has pretty informative spotlights I think
>>146805404
Have you tried lurking more?
If you want to know about Blightfall, how about you just download it and play it for 10 minutes, you fucking ingrate.
>>146805614
I don't want to learn about Blightfall, dummie
I want someone to watch play it, and other mods and modpacks that aren't in FTB since apparently FTB is the devil
I get it, blightfall is pollution and preventing it and biodome shit cool I got that in the first 2 mins of the video, but this kid is cancer, DW20 is cancer who isnt
>>146801626

>>146805779
>I don't want to learn about Blightfall
>I want someone to watch play it
why would you ever watch someone play minecraft if naught for the fact that some obscure mechanic isn't easily explained by autistic exploration
>>146806080
What? Because I like listening to peoples voices while watching a game that's familiar to me? It soothes me, why question it? I enjoy lets play channels
>>146806216
then why do you need to listen to someone playing the same modpack as you?
If anything, that'd be infuriating because chances are they're doing it retarded.
>>146806302
Oh that's where our confusion is stemming from, I led you on to believe I wanted to play Blightfall
no no no I don't like playing adventure maps, I just like watching them, it's just a fun little series to watch one or two vids a night maybe
I watch DW20 series for the same reason, but I don't know how AE2 works so at some point when I feel like I need to use it, I'll actually pay attention and learn how he does it
that's how I learned botania and blood magic and TiCon and Thermal Expansion etc etc
>>146805779
Quality Minecraft content on Youtube is lacking. Most of the LPers these days are pure cancer. The only people I see still playing Minecraft without being totally cringworthy are Yogscast, but they've never done a Blightfall playthrough.
Go out and find one. If it's any good, report back to the thread so your knowledge can be added to the collective.
>>146807537
Eurgh I don't like Yogscast, I hate their accents
I knew someone would bring em up eventually
>>146807537
>without being totally cringworthy are Yogscast
It's not a good idea to mention them, it starts massive autism.Sips is fine though. Good to listen to.
I wish the ex compressum auto sieves weren't such a double edge sword.
It's nice they're easier on the game than the ex astris ones and they don't spill everywhere if they get backed up
Using enchanted books instead of yet another upgrade item is actually clever. I can even get past the whole needing to use actual food to speed it up.
But the fact that it uses up the enchanted books just really kills it for me.

Does Optifine have problems with the GLSL shaders, or is there another reason why my renderer goes completely haywire when I have them both added? If I add both and go in-game, the main menu displays over everything else, including the game itself.
So, was anything relevant/interesting added to Sky Factory 3? I've pretty much did everything I could in Sky Factory 2.
>>146835452
Was there a three? The only thing I know is 2.5.

Because from 1.8 onwards optifine incorporated the shaders mod (meaning you don't need GLSL anymore)

>>146804126
>we haven't yet seen a single standalone mod that focuses on creating those Terraria-like hostile self-spreading biomes and fighting them off.
because stopping rapidly spreading worldcancer in 3D is much harder than in 2D, especially when whatever stops the spread is locked behind progression
and at least Terraria gives us a reason to actually not completely remove them off the face of the world
>>146841057
Last time i used Recurrent Complex it looked like this planet is bombarded with meteros non stop, and where it's not ravaged with meteors someone tried to build a huge towering bridge that leads nowhere, realized his mistake and the fact that there's nothing to cross and dropped it. I mean, is there anything else even?
>>146841806
Yeah, but then there's no need for it to spread rapidly and being unconfigurable, plus nothing really exists in minecraft unless it's chunks are loaded.
I'd really like some kind of that shit. Pure zones being as usual, and cancered shitland would disregard light level in terms of spawning it's own unique mobs, so you're always in danger that some of those weird outgrowth suddenly tries to chew your ass off or a tentacle pops under you and explores your tight unmolested cavern or something. Of course, it should be beneficial and desirable to venture there
Enough daydreaming tho', bls resbond >>146837980
>>146843101
The most common things are those meteors, bridges and some sort of mine entrances, but I've also seen huge pyramids, Japanese-ish temples and entire desert camps.

our threads are so ded now for some reason.
The ded spiked massively a few weeks back.
I was wondering if Et Futurum is gonna update to add blocks from 1.10, but I realized that the new blocks have existed in other mods.
Bone Block = Bone brick from TCon and Bleached Bone Block from Railcraft
Nether Wart Block = similar storage blocks in AMT2
Red Nether Brick = Chiseled Nether Brick?
Magma Block = no idea.
>>146852464
I'd rather have working underwater temples and guardian, just to add some stuff to do.
Crafting the prismarine stuff without fighting or building a farm is boring
>>146852464

I can't help but think modders like Vazkii value progression so much because they actually feel that getting a SSS Terra Shatterer in survival is some kind of big accomplishment that should come with no small amount of accolades and dicksucking. As if all someone has to do is post a picture of their TRIPS and it's supposed to carry some kind of weight.
It fucking doesn't. What's impressive is how you did it. Reaching SSS with an automated cake farm and Kekimurus or automated beef wellington machine and Gourmaryllis IS impressive. But in those cases, Botania is often the least impressive thing about the setup.

Because modders end up being pressured to move to the new version. When they do that, they spend more time porting to the new version and less time making new content for the mod. Not to mention the fact that those features will probably never get backported because, again, the modder is spending all of his time adapting to the new version.

Funny how most of his shit is either bloat or flowers that don't do much for too much cost. The most useful items (sash, drums) are cheap to make and only need a basic setup. I agree that crossmod automation can be impressive. Sadly, he tries hard to try to make his mod anti-automatic, but there are still ways to automate his bullshit (all you need is a timed dropper to drop coal into the coal-burning flower, which is inexpensive yet powerful in mana production; if you even care about the useless late game shit in his mod).
>>146876230
The big porting issue is 1.7.10 to 1.8, with major rendering changes being beneficial for the future of the game. After that, it is smooth sailing. Future version ports require little coding. 1.9 to 1.10 uses the exact same mappings. I don't see 1.7 lasting much longer, maybe 5 to 8 months. By then, there should be a decent selection for modpacks.

That's literally the only reason I won't move forward and I feel it's a pretty good reason. There is SOOOO much content in 1.7.10 that just works and works with other mods too. 1.8 doesn't have anything I, as a player, am interested in, namely content.

Vanilla has a lot of things that us modded players take for granted.
Vanilla players: "I need to make a grand hall to store all my items, using ender chests to align the items so they can go into their respective hopper and start the filter system to go into the chest."
Modded players: "Chests everywhere until I get an AE system." or "ProjRed/Logipipes on a big bank of Storage Drawers. Good enough for me."

I wish we could get a mod that overhauls combat. For starters, no more contact damage, no more "mobs charge headfirst into the player" shit, mobs back/sidestep to avoid getting hit, loads of more monster variety, having the fucking skeletons miss sometimes, and making combat actually rewarding in general, not only to participate in but also rewarding in the form of loot.
And hopefully developed by someone dedicated enough to keep compatibility with other major mods that add monsters.

Nope. Mounds do have a shitton of ores and a few loot chests, but Twilight Forest also has lots of small caves and caverns under the surface. Those caverns have more ore than your average overworld cave system, but they're pretty dangerous.

Needs more dimensionality and variation. Same goes for your other buildings. Consider adding columns of different bricks to act as support. Looks like you're using Chisel. Check out the variations on glass. Dungeon glass would probably make that tower look pretty badass.

Have you seen the Win10 Minecraft? Sure there's some neat things in the pipeline, like moving TE's with pistons (Chests, etc.) but at the same time they've fixed the BUD power (Observer Block is now a BUD detector) and broke one-tick pulses into pistons (2 ticks of redstone to activate, one tick to extend) which a LOT Of redstone builds rely on.

>Backpacks: OP or no?
Absolutely.
>>147056612
>- How do you solve your personal inventory problems?
What personal inventory problems? As long as you assemble your modpack correctly and don't leave a dozen of each type of ore in the world you'll never face these issues. Vanilla's inventory is very spacious.
>- How do you get loot from the field back to your base?
literally just carrying it
On a similar note, I do think (vanilla) minecarts should be made worthwhile though; railway systems are just too much of a chore to set up in vanilla, especially stations. They're also very costly for the time they're useful (i.e. not long at all, regardless of your ore generation you're better off just taking a couple of trips with an empty inventory and mining everything you see in one go).
A good first step is to cheapen the cost of rails (especially because iron is demanded by everything and mining resources don't last long at all), then add more blocks and shit to manage the system (we really need engine carts that actually work reliably, some kind of rail signal thing that forces the engine cart to pause at them for X seconds while the container wagons get unloaded, and another to automate track forks).
>- Backpacks: OP or no?
Don't really use them, but I would say no, at the end of the day you're just reducing the number of trips you need to take.
On another note, I think the game needs a terraria-like "quick store" function that places items you have in your inventory into chests/containers nearby that already have said item instead of requiring you to build a system that does that for you and then dumping everything in a chest.
Also implement a "favorite" function that renders the item immune to the above effect.

It's really not with mods more often than not. You don't even need 13 types of copper for that problem to surface, really. Besdies ores, there could be new mobs\loot, and most noticable would be tools you may need. Off the top of my head TC - that mod alone already adds wand, pouch and thaumometer that you probably would want to carry at all times, then maybe even more shit like a spare bottle of potentia or what not. Then some other mods may add nifty tools you'd like to carry too and you ends up with 12 slots reserved
My point being that if anything needs more inventory slots on you it's definitely modded minecraft
>>147056612
I've been using Ender Storage since forever so I just park a hopper under one of those and use an Ender Pouch to zap everything back to base from the field. Since I started using Ender I/O, I figured out I can solve a lot of clogging issues by using mod item filters to sort stuff into different chests like 1 for Twilight Forest stuff, Thaumcraft stuff, GoG stuff, etc.

>thaumometer
that reminds me
I set up a whole fancy system of pipes, hoppers, droppers, and conveyor belts to let me scan all the contents of all of my chests
immediately after I finished, I noticed that I could have just picked up the thaumometer with my mouse and hovered over every item while they were still in my chests.
I don't know if it is the latest version that does that or some addon I got, but actually kind of buttmad that I didn't notice it before, right now.
Is there a way to make bloatallurgy ores get exported by all their ID's and damages in AE2?
Thought fuzzy card might help with it, and I just pot the 6 ores that are first on their ID count, but it didn't work as I expected it to, do I simply have to put a metric asston of export buses on the chest? And yes it's creative I'm learning mods I've never touched

there is the chaos of creation
the chaos of destruction
the chaos of CLANG
>>147063785
Tell that to azanor.
Perditio is the opposite aspect for him

>avoid Ancient Warfare because i don't care about shitty turdownie factions and all that trash
>It actually has jackshit to do with warfare and is a lowtech mod about windmills and NPC slaves tending to your farms, fishing and growing animals
Too bad the mod looks like no one cares about it and it's in utter disrepair, still fun for what little it has
Words cannot express just how excited I am about these windmills.

i guess this means the opposite of victus is potentia because dark red is the opposite of light blue, just like aer is the opposite of instrumentum

I am so so sorry.
In case you are just pretending though, just know that I am talking about PRIMAL aspects (protip: the ones in wands) which are
Earth
Wind
Fire
Water
Ordo
Perditio

You're a dumbass too.
Fire is hot and dry
Air is hot and wet.
Water is cold and wet.
Earth is cold and dry.
Therefore, air is the opposite of earth.

>use Iguana Tinker Tweaks with pretty much default configs (without the mining level bullshit though) so its tools feel at least a bit different from vanilla
>I can feel joy in playing again
Fuck all the MAWPC, I missed using this mod. The other tools will get their chance after I get an enchantment setup.
This all makes me worried that I'll one day feel like abandoning 1.7.10 simply because of TCon 2 though

Instead of a few materials giving stonebound and that's it for effects, each material has its own effect now. For example, wood extremely slowly repairs your tool, iron sucks items in a small area, bone adds extra damage, end stone stops Endermen from teleporting and so on. Tool durability also seems to have a better formula, and the tool station things now all interact properly with each other if they're touching.
It's a completely different mod but it seems much better than before.

>look it up what they are
>see Lex being a condescending prick, as usual
Damn, I just found out another village I visited previously is nearby, about 400 blocks away. I think I have a set objective. Reminder this is what the first villa looked like, after adding the garden and two stone houses.

Still, nowhere near as degenerate as wanting to be a little anime girl, or a dragon.
>>147083413
all i see is some major autism towards a character archetype
still unquestionably better, by miles, than a man who doesn't shave nor pretends he has a manvoice while asking people to call him a "she", or a landwhale begging her fanbase for money because she broke her car again

>>Maximillion (Game: Evil Genius)
I thought I got some Evil Genius vibes from his full-body avatar.Fucking love that game.
>>147084103
Not to mention, first and foremost, a complete lack of conceptual cohesion; more often than not modders add in whatever random idea comes to mind rather than mulling over said idea's role in the grand scheme of things.
Greg has a master plan.
