Server eхtrapolates client plane position when it's not receiving packets from it. So if packets are lost or delayed you still see the plane move according to physics even though server has no fucking clue what the client is actually doing on his pc. I'm looking at a picture of a Mirage 2000 in a book and it has 2 magics and 4 530s, with two of them being near the front of the wing.

There's CAS, SEAD, Anti-shipping, Armed Recon and Strike missions for A/G
It's a nice, very moddable lite sim, with tons of user-made content (some stupidly good looking, some Flight Simulator 98-tier).
There's things like a pack of every goddamn F-15 there ever was, weapon packs with higher detail than BMS' ones, obscure slav planes.
But it feels... Unclean to play this thing. Like you know you should be learning some systems instead of going full Top Gun.
Also the sound system and stock .wavs are pretty mediocre and there are no good packs. U just made my own from DCS mods and BMS

The way the CAC modes worked before was janky as hell. The modes make a lot more sense now, they're context sensitive, and can be cancelled in a more intuitive way.

I miss the old sales, they were great for impulse purchases.

Fucking finally got the game running. Hey Krasniye, your little terrain switcher package thing doesn't work with the most recent update.
The SA342L is pretty nifty and the gazmeme's FM feels a bit better, but it still needs polish. There still isn't really a "light on the skids" moment- you just pull and then suddenly unstick from the ground with no tells from your aircraft. The MG/Autocannon is neat as fuck but it's super high dispersion so it's useless past about 750m from a target. The rockets are hard to judge because at the moment their recoil is fucking ridiculous. The Memezel is also a good clip lighter in the L configuration than in the M configuration, I think, so she flies a bit more nippy.

That sight on the side is for aiming the ATGMs, not the gun. The gun is aimed using pic related in every model of the hind I'm aware of
as for hind versions... there are really only like three or four major variants. The A is the greenhouse canopy, the D is the first double-bubble canopy + 12.7mm turret, the P has a fixed double barrel cannon on the side instead of a turreted gun, and the V is the D but with capabilities for better ATGMs and a different gun IIRC.

Okay, googling has turned up that the sighting complex on the Mi-24 is the KPS-53AV, which apparently comprises both the telescopic sight block under the aircraft and the reflex sight in the gunner's cockpit, so you're probably right- the ATGMs and the gun are both probably slaved to the same sighting system.
More interestingly, though, is that I found a reference to the map holder in the pilot's station being "doppler fed". Assuming the Hind has a similar doppler ground radar to the Hip, that might mean that the map actually moves based on returns from that doppler radar (though that would mean that any time you went up to 1km+ you'd lose track on your map probably).

I'd say if you went above radar altimeter range, it would switch to INS.

That being said, the sighting system is actually stabilized for changes in airspeed/direction/altitude, so I doubt it'd be that hard to use the computer for that to also feed speed and direction data to the moving map display
