just look at all the ways people came up with to abuse calibration of new accounts and how many times valve has had to change it
not to mention the fact that dota is a changing game means that resetting MMR would cause some players to end up higher than they should be "overall" and others will end up lower than their typical ability to win dota games depending on what the patch favors
