Well for crafting and gathering both, if you go back to your original guild-leaders they set you on your path for glory via unlocking your HQ quests.
But more importantly than that, they give you those consumable items that boost your exp gain by a solid amount doing gathering/crafting.
Can't speak much for crafting but for gathering you'll want to just do some gathering leves until you get high enough of a level to start the collectibles stuff. Collectibles are basically the bread and butter for levelling both Land and Hand once you unlock them. It explains it all when you're at the right level to do it and done via visiting Mor Dhona.
You'll earn Blue Scrips for Collectibles to get gear and helpful consumables right till you hit around 60 when you can start also earning Red Scrips. There's more to do at 60 as well involving scrips but you might as well wait till you're there first.

You might have some trouble finding a static on Excal at this point in time, given the server's somewhat closed-off nature in regards to raiding. Open PF recruitment happens a bit less frequently than other servers because a lot of people have connections with each other, but that's not to say that it would be impossible. Someone else asked a question about Excal's PFs a night or two ago, and I told them that as of now it's mostly 20+ parties with the majority of them being Nidhogg parties of some type, with the occasional hunt party or sometimes a crafter offering their services. Pretty standard stuff, I assume.
In regards to the market, the hot sellers are obviously the IW crafter/Gatherer sets and their associated raw materials, with Glass Fibers hovering around 90-100K. Replica Allagan/High Allagan/Dreadwyrm items are also pretty stable in terms of how often they sell and their price ranges; HA tank coat for example is around 1.8M-2M NQ.

Grinds are a thing of the past. Just do some dungeons on SCH to break that monotony. Playing with randoms will keep you on your toes and will provide interesting variables in repeat runs. Even though it's not much, eating some food to give some extra EXP helps.

I interpreted that scene as my character being surprised that someone in Ishgard honestly believes in her like some devoted fan, so she's not that used to it. Considering that a whole lot of NPCs tend to have your character do a shitload of fetch quests and use you for your own gains, being praised with such gusto is not what they would be used to. Still, Haurchefant is a highly eccentric fellow so he does come on rather strong. Not that I would mind. The guy's great and I'd ship him with my character.

I hardly had to heal The Vault on my SCH compared to WHM and AST because I pre-Adlo the tank and Rouse my fairy. That gives me enough time to place Shadowflare and apply my DoTs before having to help with the healing, and sometimes I even get to spam Blizzard II if the tank is sturdy.

I like them both a lot too. Despite its simplicity, I find that Hullbreaker actually has a pretty cool atmosphere to it. It might be the only dungeon besides Castrum/Praetorium where running the dungeon actually feels like you're doing the thing that the story of the dungeon is supposed to be about, rather than just a serious of rooms with enemies in them and a boss every now and again, with MAYBE and end boss that makes sense.

Hullbreaker Hard is kind of like Halatali Hard for me. It's a fun dungeon with a different mood and they've gotten room to just throw some mechanics around free to the wind in some neat ways. People complaining about gates on it is a bit weird because you can tell on the spots where there are gates that they want you to tackle the specific gimmick of the mob arrangement you've got set against you.
It kind of shows how people complain about how dungeons are a boring linear series of mobs you drag into a pile and destroy, but when you try to change things up a little they complain that it's not a linear series of mob pile-ups.

I mean dungeons with gates are shit, but the last time they made a dungeon that wasn't just as full of gates was basically Brayflox HM and the rest of the 2.2 stuff, so I feel like you've kind of got to adjust your standards to the game.
I feel like most of the pulls contribute something reasonably unique to the dungeon, too. There's a couple dud pulls (the first one, the group of three Ymirs, and the two brothers right after the second boss), but I think pretty much all of the others, bosses included, have something to offer.
I prefer Hullbreaker HM to 3 out of 4 of the dungeons from the previous two patches, so it's kind of hard to get too mad about its shortcomings.

Dungeons seemed like a better concept if it wasn't instanced and didn't restrict you with strictly 4 people and with a strict role composition. The queues alone were distasteful. They're also literal hallways with trash mobs blocking you to pass on time which is just boring instead of labyrinthine or having branches, no trash mobs but instead quite powerful enemies that might drop a chest etc, full of surprises every time etc.
They're at a better direction with Deep Dungeons however. It would literally kill whatever relevance the level 15-59 dungeons had if the leveling process there is faster like they claimed it to be.

A roleplayer will undobutedly put more time into the game doing as they wish. They are also more likely to make extra purchases like Fantasias or name changes, and a server transfer or two to Balmung. The ridiculous thing about Gordias and A3S being a wall in it is that there were SO many ways they could have done damage control on it.
Like the obvious thing would have been a midstream nerf. People would have grumbled about it, but as long as it's done early enough (I'd say that the 3.2 A6S nerf was about as late as you could do something like that and get away with it), the player base will accept it. They could have just lopped 10% off the HP of everything in the fight and people would have enjoyed it a lot more.
Or if they didn't want to nerf the fight, they could have just unfucked the loot tables - they did it in BCoB, and they did it again in Midas - to fix the situation where there were a ton of groups who needed just a little more gear to get through the fight, but who were literally gear-capped on everything that you could get WITHOUT clearing A3S.
And if they didn't want to alter the drop tables, they could have just altered which things you could buy with Manifestos, so that people could use their Page 2s to upgrade their Esoteric gear.
The fact that they just left it there to fester for 4+ months still fucking baffles me to no end. So much damage to the community could have been avoided if they'd taken like five minutes to actually think of solutions to their problems.

If you've got leve allowances to burn you can do 1-60 in a single day for everything except Miner and Botanist. If not you can slowly level DoH through Ixal Dailies and GC turn-ins.
If you don't care about the morality of it you could also use a script to afk-craft while you're sleeping or at school/work. A few hours is typically good enough to get you about 20 levels, though if you want your equipment to last that long you'll need to level everything together(specifically Weaver and Goldsmith to take care of everything except weapons) so you can have 199% durability. Otherwise you'll find out you wasted several hundred/thousand shards on failed crafts due to broken equipment.
